That's exactly the problem and it's a wasted system.

 

Another thing about 358/2 Days is how much frigging HP enemies have relative to your ability to do damage. Expect it to take several minutes to bring down mid-level Heartless.

I'm playing a game this unbalanced that I can only understand about 5% of the text in and you think I'm not cheating the hell out of it?

I suppose so.  How do you even know where to go next?

That much is pretty easy; accepting a mission sends you to that world, and any paths the game doesn't want you taking are usually blocked off by that jaggedy Nobody pattern.

I probably wouldn't need the assistance as long as I had my invincibilty code active. Mostly missions are either "run around and kill all of this thing in the picture down here" "run around and collect a bunch of the things in the picture down here", "run around inspecting things", or just "kill everything in sight"

I was thinking about that just now too. 

I think mostly I just want to see Tetsuya Nomura adapt the Disney characters to his design aesthetic and especially see what they look like in Atlantica and Halloween Town. Waspinator has plans!

I'm saying I think my gameplay gripes are really just a cover for wanting to see the Disney movie characters redesigned like Mickey/Donald/Goofy were, and to see their alternate forms in the worlds that have them.

So do you agree that there would actually be a point to having a party if they were all unique and useful and could be transferred between worlds as such?

I guess.  I'd also like being able to play as the team mates.

On one hand I agree with that, on the other hand it kind of takes the focus of the game off of Sora to do that. Having the other two trigger buttons as shortcut menus for the two sidekicks would be good though.

Well, they can easily give missions where Sora is alone, or give him auto dual-wield like Roxas.  That would keep me playing Sora more than the others.

Roxas could dual-wield for a reason, which is explained in 358/2 Days.

And so could sora, because of his clothes.

 

It wouldn't be hard to just make him dual wield all the time.
