I am continuing my reread of Crown of Swords and I noticed that after Rand got cut by Fain's dagger, Dashiva gets Flynn to come see what he can do to help heal Rand.  Why?

 

In addition to this we find out that Flynn had learned a way to heal that isn't that great from Taim, but then discussed healing with Dashiva and learned this better way of healing.  Why did Dashiva teach him or lead him to learn that? 

 

Dashiva seems to be helping out way too much, I don't get it. 

Well, at that stage the DO wants Rand to live to face him at Tarmon Gai'don, so he needs to be Healed to make it there.

Yes, at this stage of the game, the standing orders from the Dark One are to "Let the Lord of Chaos rule." If he let Rand die that'd be a direct violation of those orders, and the DO would not have been pleased.
