This show has spent more time making up scenes/story/dialogue for the show runner’s boyfriend than it does for:

1) Rand sword training.

2) The Eye of the World

3) Thom

4) Accepted tests

5) Eggy as damane

6) Eggy mastering dreams

7) Perrin with wolves

Just to name a few.  Yes, “room to breathe” is a big problem with the show and while it is obviously an impossible task to adapt a series this rich and long to TV without certain cuts, some of the made-up nonsense does not need to be in the show.  Pacing is a huge issue in this show.

This topic is only for Discussing Episode 1.

just watched it.  to me, this is the single best wheel of time episode yet   so many callbacks to the books, finally some good humor with Matt, bubbles of evil kind of, Maiden's kiss, Elayne

My thoughts on this episode: While I still like S2E6 best for its emotionality, this was the best episode of the show in its totality. They've really upped the stakes in a number of different way

Just finished Ep1 Fan Event. Initial thoughts:  1) It was good Tv. Started with a “bang” and was compelling throughout.  2) Lot of things to love as book fans: bubbles of evil, grey man, OP bat

If Lanfear was responsible for the “bubbles of evil,” why is it that we did not see any weaves?

I still think this is related to what Ishy did in Book 3.

She created "Nightmares" in T'A'R and then brought them into Reality with the TP.
