And who decided that 2am was a good release time? You doing that just to torture us, Amazon?

Amazon: "I dare you not to sleep tonight... I dare you!"

Me: "The last time I pulled an all nighter was in college 15 years ago ..."

Amazon: "Then you don't care about WoTTv and want it to fail!"

Me: "Ok Nynaeve ... don't get your britches in a bunch; I guess it's time to roll the dice and see if I die at work on Thursday!"

Because Australia lives in the future, and they get to watch it on Friday!

Actually Thursday arvo mate, and there's nothing wrong with living in th past, there's some really cool stuff back there 😎

Yeah, prime's weird. They always claim their Shows release on "Friday", cause they're talking Internationally, but even if you go a little further east to New Zealand, or Christmas Island, it would still have launched on "Thursday" around what... Thursday 10pm for the kiwis, and 9pm for anyone that lives on Christmas Island?

Either way, I'm sure you can expect to find some in depth episode reviews today in what is "Internationally Friday" in the land of Madmen, as I'm sure Amazon has lifted their review embargos on the first 3 episodes. 😉

You know, some people theorise that Mad Max was a prequel to the WoT...

And the rest of you have never seen a huntsman spider the size of a dinner plate hugging your window 🤫

The wheel of time being what it is, why would they be sure that it is a prequel and not a sequel?  🙂

watched the first 3 episodes.  This season is great so far-- I can't imagine why book readers would have too many issues with what has been shown so far.  Shoreh Aghadashloo has been one of my favorite actresses since the expanse-- I absolutely cannot wait for her to go into full boss mode.  She is great at that and I expect her performance to attract some attention.  I am very curious why she has those tremors-- some kind of PTSD from visions maybe?

It was a little odd to see Gawyn and Galad getting some action with the novice/accepted already.  They are both the same cocky personality so far.  I am interested to see them differentiate into the Gawyn and Galad's we know from the books.

The only thing I didn't really like so far is that the show is putting too much suspicion on Verin already.  Verin taking over Sheriam's role for discovering the grey man is a little risky as we don't want the endpoint spoiled too early.

Finally, i agree with John from wotup that amazon would be morons to cancel this show.  I haven't seen the whole season like John, but this show is already better than almost all of Amazon's other sci-fi/fantasy show.  definitely enjoying more than the Witcher and Rings of Power now.  Not sure if it is on par with The Boyz or Dance of Dragons yet, but I think it is definitely getting there.  After the first season, I definitely wouldn't have said that.

Finished the 1st 3 episodes and I think: it’s great Tv!

Also, a lot of things in there for book fans to geek out over: Matt quarterstaff fight. Camelyn succession war references. 7 of the 8 Forsaken that will be in the show have been named or seen. More Aiel.

I’m sure some book purists (myself included) can nitpick a # of complaints.

But overall it’s really good!

One thing I have looked at is the traction on this site for the first episode of season 1 episode 1.

The first 2 days of S1E1 saw over eight pages of posts on DM

Despite the early release at this point the S3E1 thread has only 4 pages.

Episodes 2 and 3 of S3 have only 17 total posts across them during this first day that seems to be a fairly heavy reduction.

I don't know how this reflects directly on the overall picture but I don't think it is a good sign for the show.

Maybe. Maybe not.

Something divisive elicits much more discussion than something universally liked. Most of those 8 pages in the first season were massive arguments between supporters and detractors of the show. There are very few detractors for S3, so less arguments.

That said, i fear a lackluster first season may be an insurmontable obstacle. I doubt new viewers will pop in just for season 3, if they didn't watch S1 and 2 before. Or if they stopped watching after S1.

Entirely possible. Its just with the studios not giving out any really accountable numbers these days getting a metric is difficult.

A similar situation happened in 2009-2013 on Dragonmount when you were not allowed to criticise Sanderson. Dragonmount lost hundrends of regular commenters during these years.

If you cannot post anything about the show, because you are a 'gatekeeper', a 'homophobe', a 'racist' etc. why post it at all? This happened over reddit and other sites, and now the same 10-15 people cheering that the 'adaptation' of WOT is the best TV series ever.

And if say anything about things happen differently in the books, you became a bookcloak instantly, who cannot accept these fantastic improvements, which should have been made by Mr. Jordan, but he was just another white male who was not able to write compelling characters, magic with internal logic, a world with internal logic, and a compelling story.

It's entirely possible to be critical of - and criticize - the TV adaptation here - or elsewhere - without being ignored or dismissed. The problem is that a significant number of those with negative opinions don't actually want to discuss their points of view; they simply want to complain and baselessly attack and disparage the adaptation itself, the creators of it, and anyone who doesn't share in their negativity.

This doesn't happen here. Sorry, it just doesn't. Nobody gets kicked here for being critical.

People are freely permitted to criticize the show provided that criticism is grounded in something more than name calling.

Hard to draw any conclusions in the first 24 hours. People are still watching. Some still waiting to watch. Some wanting to watch again before dipping in. And many have shifted away to other forms of media over the last 3-4 years.

I wasn't able to get to watch it until 7pm (central) Last night. Which means I didn't finish all 3 episodes until around 10:30ish. By that time I was wrapping it up for the night and didn't want to spend 3 hours discussing stuff on the forums. I also work during the day so posts like this are going to be spotty until I'm done with work. lol

Exactly. My wife wanted to watch Episode 1 (even though I'd already seen it) and we waited to watch until she got home from work and we ate. Started around 6:30 pacific and ended around 10:30, then went to bed. I still need to watch E2 and E3 again and I have to work.
