The Wheel of Time Guide has a fair amount of info on the people that live beyond the Aiel Waste, but does anyone think they will ever play a role in the Wheel of Time?  Or is that going to be something that RJ never goes into except for a possible short story?

I wouldn't bet on RJ bringing people from beyond the Waste into the mix. In eleven books there have been only allusions to them (I don't think Graendal's pets count). But who knows, maybe we will see a delegation of channelers from them, what with Tarmon Ga'don all but here.

Well, there was a cameo appearance of one in Tear in KOD, which might indicate that RJ at least considers letting them have a small part to play in the background.

I missed that one completely, I can't even remember the circumstances. Which one was it?

 

If they have a major part to play then AMoL will be even huger than expected lol. I think their channelers may be involved, but other than that I don't think we'll see much of them.
