In the PAC-10... Who can't get 10 wins in the PAC-10? Really... even Georgia Tech could 10 wins out there.

It is hard to get 10 wins because we have USC, as well as 2-4 other ranked teams depending on the year. Sometimes more, but we have a lot at the end of the season. :P

And your point is? There are always 3-4 teams out of the SEC that have 10 wins... and we've always got 5-6 teams in the top 25, and 1-2 in the top 5. Best college football in the country is in the SEC.

Well, when it comes to NASCAR, I am still in mourning over the loss of Mark Martin from full time racing. He was my fave and I haven't really picked a replacement yet.

 

What's up with Jr. leaving DEI? He is a DE isn't he? It's that step-mom of his causing problems. She should be the one to go. Or let Jr. keep the #8!

Yes, his step-mother is the problem. He wants more control over his race team and she doesn't want to give it to him. The way his Dad willed the company out, Theresa (evil step-mom) has 51% of the company, and Dale and his sister split the other half (I think that's how it was laid out). Jr was actually trying to buy more interest, rather than just demanding it. *shrugs* She wasn't willing to give it up.

 

Which means,

1- Truex is good, but he's not going to be enough to keep that team from going under. Darling Mommy dearest should've realized that before Jr's contract ran out. You don't say no to the face of NASCAR when he wants control over his own team, ya know?

 

2- Hendrix is going to be unstoppable next year. Between Jeff Gordon, Jimmy Johnson and Dale, Jr, there's no way they're not walking off with the highest owner points in recorded history. They're already REALLY close.

 

3- I really think Jr will win the cup, if not next year, the one after. Just won't be in a Budweiser Chevrolet... :( *sobs*

What she said... the Car s what is stopping Jr. right now... DEI just can't put the same car on the track that Hendrick can. The only real question is whether Jr. will share as well as JG and JJ have between teams.

Actually, he plays nice with them already without them being team mates. *grins* Just imagine, bump drafting between a bunch of Hendrix cars... maybe he'll teach those two twits how to do it right...? *grins*

But I think this whole thing has been a devestation to lil'E fans everywhere. My sister-in-law has a house covered in #8 Budweiser car stuff, and now it means nothing! Which could be good if you are a merchandise distributor and can start churning out whatever his new number is, but really sucky to the fans who must now recreate their collections.

 

How did my "Hi" thread turn into a sports thread? I don't really do sports. My son plays Tball and my husband calls baseball and football, but I prefer the Food Network and Discovery/Discovery Health. Let's talk about those.

I like watching Discovery Health - things like Mystery Diagnosis or Trauma, Life in the ER.  And we can't forget Dr. G!

 

I'm not into NASCAR, either - my sister is, though.  That and bowling.  I must confess that when she gets started on either, my eyes glaze over . . .  :P
