What if????

What if by some chance the Dark One wins and most main, secondary char. dies and the pattern is covered in darkness. RJ wanted too do a off shut with Mat and Tion after TG could they be running hopelessly. What if just by chance everything goes wrong.Logan is the true darkfriend and kills Taim getting his glory from the DO. All the Aiel dead. Trollics all over the place.

Then the series would have been made extremly pointless then. Besides didn't we see one of those worlds when Rand unintentionally used a Portal Stone in tGH? The world they were in was one where Artur Hawkwing was defeated by the Trollocs. It was also a faint world as it wasn't a likely one to happen. So that would really suck if that was RJ's vision which I don't think it is, thank god.

Besides which, I don't recall the book it's from, but it was theorized that if the DO were free in one of the PS worlds that he would be free in all of them.

Ya, theres no way thats how the series would end. That would make all the other books obsolete.

That would be a cheap effect.  Much like the current string of horror movies that build up a sense of hope before dropping you like a stone with a failed ending.  Too much time, effort and heart has been put into the novels, the world and the characters to end in that manner.  As cliche as it sounds the standard format of good over evil (evidence that evil will return) is so engraved in our collective psyche that we as a people cannot enjoy a story that breaks this pattern by more than small amounts.

Just a small point, I'm pretty sure it was either Lanfear or Ishamael that first used the portal stone.  I think saw both Lanfear and Ishy so I'm not sure who did it but I don't think it was Rand.

I was refering to the time Rand, Loial, and Hurin all went to sleep next to the stone and woke up in that parallel shadow world. I guess it would make sense that Lanfear brought them but why bother with Loial and Hurin? She doesn't need or want them, in fact why even bother with that world when she could have just taken him?

IF it was Lanfear, perphaps she couldn't bring Rand without Lolial and Hurin as well. Since they were so close together, perphaps touching each other, they got dragged along for the ride.

Fortunately for us, WoT is/was written by Robert Jordan and not George RR Martin.  IF GRRM wrote it we'd likely find out that the entire War of Power/Light/Shadow struggle was because Lanfear wanted to sleep with Lews Therin who was actually her brother unbeknownst to him and that Ishy was both their fathers.  Also, Mat secretly always wanted to be with Sevanna, so he was killing all of Rand's messengers to the Shaido in a bold attempt to play both sides.  When that failed he killed Couladin to further his own ambitions with becoming High Seat of Harrenhal etc etc etc.

;D ;D ;D Hear, hear....at last I found some one who see's GRRM's ....shall I say "skeleton". Great point Davian93.

Also you would find similaraties of earth history in GRRM's writing. It seems to me like all he has done is taken certain aspect's of world's history and converted them into fantasy.Like...."rise and fall of roman", "Chengis Khan".....history taken from different parts and different time.

And languages..."I will let all their soldier....you. All their horses......you...if necessary. Such a great creative words.(The porn movie maker's can learn so much from him).

Star Trek Enterprise is one of my most favourite TV series. I find it as attractive as WOT. The contrast between Star Trek and  porn type TV series(I won't say the name) or Wot and GRRM is vivid.
