Got this off of DarkHorizons:

George Lucas hits Los Angeles this week to meet with writers for his long-gestating live-action Star War series reports Entertainment Weekly.

Lucas' plan is to recruit several freelancers to spend a week at the Skywalker Ranch in November to come up with story ideas for the series.

The scribes would then disperse and write the 13 episodes that would be produced and financed by Lucas.

Hey, at least George Lucas isn't doing the writing - that's gotta be a plus.  I'm also hoping he's got little more than a very general idea of the setting of probably plots.  The less hands on the bearded buffoon has with this series the better the chances that it will be something halfway decent to watch.

It still irks me to no end that Lucas and his whipping boy Rick McCallum are claiming this series will bridge the gap between the prequels and the original series when we were told for nearly a decade that the films would bridge the gap.  It only goes to highlight what an incredible waste of time 90% of the prequels were.

Hey if Lucas can turn a buck you know he will.

I'm just hoping it is good and not suck like majority of the prequels.

Darn I thought maybe these would be the fabled episodes 7-8-9.  Oh well I guess we'll never know.

The Clone War cartoons were not a bad bridge between episode 2-3.
