Who else is excited about this game?  I adored Guitar Hero 2, to the point where Marsh and I were sitting in Best Buy jamming on the demo game with scores of children watching and applauding.  Ok, not scores.  But a few.  And a creepy smelly guy who stood way too close!

 

Anyway, Marsh has asked for Rock Band for the PS2 for Christmas this year and I can't wait to get it!  Sooo excited!

I just bought Guitar Hero 3 yesterday, but I am also really pumped to see what this Rock Band game is all about. My husband and I while away many pleasant evening hours trying to best each other in Guitar Hero. :D

I have been playing GH3 for a few days but just can't see myself banging a drum or singing in a mic.  I will only buy this game if I find friends who want to play as well.

See, I can hold my own in GH3 (even though I find it considerably more challenging than its predescessors), but I would LOOOOVE to be the lead singer. Off topic: Did you see the guy who is singing on GH3???? Caveman. It's a very ungenerous statement, but I'm willing to go there. :P

 

 

I thought Rock Band was only coming out on the next gen systems, I didn't see any release info for PS2....I was really bummed about that because I am a drummer by heart and a karaoke junkie, so this game sounds awesome...but, I will not shell out 3-500 dollars for a game system right now...I have other pressing needs.

I can't wait to get this and purely jam out with my friends on a regular basis. Then again, i could just go play with my band. Who knows. :P

I don't see how gamaes like rock band, and 'singstar' where you sing in a mic has any real gameplay function to it >_>

It makes it easy for people who can't or won't sing well in public a chance to feel like they are performing.  Plus the nice thing is you don't have to hit the right notes it registers pitch changes not keys.  Also I just got done reading a blog by the person who programmed the drum parts.  He said if you can play expert, you can play real drums...guess my position as drummer may find a whole lot of new blood...lol.

Given my nature to try to find easier way to do things, I would probably take something like an electric piano and just turn that into the controller. :P

On sale, even!  I love singing, we have ALL the Karaoke Revolutions, too.  It's more fun than you think.  Loved Guitar Hero 2, don't have 3 yet, though.  I think we'll probably just get Rock Band instead.

Karana, if that is true and not a minor mistake (Rockband website didn't have any listings for PS2) then I think I may have just died and gone to heaven(PG13)....Oh and I will still get GH3 as well (Have GH, GH2, GH80's).

Well, if you check the pre-order links on the Rock Band website (I checked it, to be sure) they all list it for PS2, also.  So, no, I don't think it's a minor mistake.  :)

Just a quick bump of confirmation.  For anyone else who like me thought this was too good to be true...I have recieved Email confirmation from Harmonix that a PS2 version will be here in mid December...Woohoo.

I already believed in it.  Been pre-ordered for a while now.  Like, $50 cheaper on that amazon link I posted... sah-weet!

Just bought GH3 last week...SONGS ARE AWESOME! Old School Weezer is just made of win. I will eventually get Rock Band...but I'm not sure if it will be before Christmas (My daughter is at the age where all her toys are really large and really expensive :( ). Too bad though, it would be a great New Year's thing! You guys will have to let me know how it goes! :D

Oh I probably won't be getting it before Christmas either...Have you heard of the FUR-REAL Pony......Yeah 250.00.  I gotta figure out a way to convince my Daughter she doesn't want that one...lol.

Wow, when my daughter was young they just had Fur Real Kittens and Puppies.  But ponies? Insane.

 

Just get her a REAL pony.  That will convince her she doesn't want that crappy fake one!

i know GH comes with the guitar controller, what does RB come with?

It comes with a guitar, a mike, and a drum set.  If you have (or buy) another guitar, such as the one from GH, then you can have a bass set up in the rock band also.

I probably should have thought to ask this when I emailed about the PS2 version...will it be 4player optioned...if so how?

Well I thought you could purchase an attachment that allows for 4 Player games
