I do not know if this was discussed before but during my current reread of wheel of time, I am at KOD, an idea poped in my head...

 

Rand has got LTT in his head... LTT says the he has a man in his head (Rand)...

 

Mat has memories of past heroes...

 

Heroes are being reborn...

 

Forsaken are being reborn...

 

The wheel keeps on turning...

 

People see the past of the futur in different ways... Egwene with her dreams... Min with her viewing...

 

Now could it be possible that there is only one battle against the shadow? Could both Rand and LTT live their own lives concurrently at the same time and will be facing the DO at the same time but in different ages? That would explain why Rand has a madman in his head... and LTT complains of the exact same thing... Except for the insanity which is an easy excuse and I doubt RJ would make it that easy... I like my theory but it need work  ;D

I hesitate to say immpossible, but i find it unlikley.  Rand and LTT are the same soul, and if that were the case, I would like to think that RJ would have given us glimpses of that.  Also, one of Min's viwings I think deals with the fact that LTT is in Rands Head.

Yes. She sees Rand and another man that is overlapping him, I believe it is described, and that one of them will kill the other, I'm fairly sure she said, and she doesn't know which will win.

 

I agree with Ahaz. I don't want to say impossible, but I highly doubt it. An interesting idea nonetheless, likely or not.

No, because the Lews Therin in Rand's head constantly whines about his lost Ilyena, and he didn't die until after the bore had been sealed

Plus, LTT did not go crazy until the DO's counterstroke which occured after the bore was sealed.

Also, by asking circumspect questios of Lan, Mat finds out that his memories cover a specific period of time, all of which was after the breaking.

I though the idea was interesting... but I did not think this through obviously  ::)

They're scared of you guys. You guys can catch the smallest flaw, and probably give the book, chapter, page, and paragraph that proves the idea can't work.
