Bioshock wins hands down.

Not really suprised.  Bioshock is a great game.

I am also not surprised at COD4 as I am still playing it as my MP fix.

I didn't think TF2 was all that great.  CoD4 is way better than both Halo 3 and TF2 combined.

I'm glad to see Bioshock had as good a showing as it did, even if I don't own it yet.  Mass Effect is another that looks like it did well, if not overly amazing.  Not having played CoD4 I can't compare it yet to anything, but these awards just made damn sure its on my list.

*cough cough*  I'm surprised there weren't more PS3 exclusives on the list. ;)

Also somewhat related, here are the black friday estimates for the Next-gen consoles.  Hard figures should be out by mid next week.

Wii: 519,000 (Total: 5.4 million)

Xbox 360: 366,000 (Total: 7.2 million)

PS3: 121,000 (Total: 2.2 million)

those number look about right... at the store that I work at we sell close to 2x as many Wiis as 360's (all systems combined Elite/standard/arcade) and 4-5x as many as PS3s

You should see how many ps3's were being sold vs 360's in europe/japan. :P

Of course, the DS sales are devistating everyone elses.. Its like 20 to 1!

Sony will ALWAYS do better that MSFT in Japan.  Its actually considered a lack of proper patriotism to own a 360 and not a PS3. The DS is worse than a cold, all you need to do is look twice and you'll catch one.  The scary thing is dollar for dollar the DS out sells any video game system EVER MADE.

I like how you convieniently forgot to mention the European market. ;)

Though that might have to do with the fact I forgot to add some links about UK... (everyone knows the UK = europe! :P)

Heres one for Europe

http://ps3.psu.com/UK-weekly-PS3-sales-surpass-the-Wii-News--a1560-p0.php

http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=Wii&reg1=Europe&cons2=PS3&reg2=Europe&cons3=X360&reg3=Europe&start=39026&end=39411

http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=Wii&reg1=Japan&cons2=PS3&reg2=Japan&cons3=X360&reg3=Japan&start=39026&end=39411

http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=Wii&reg1=America&cons2=PS3&reg2=America&cons3=X360&reg3=America&start=39026&end=39411

Of course, it still isn't in the lead in america.

http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=Wii&reg1=All&cons2=PS3&reg2=All&cons3=X360&reg3=All&start=39026&end=39411

but this ones always funny

http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=PS2&reg1=America&cons2=PS3&reg2=America&cons3=X360&reg3=America&start=39026&end=39411

and this one makes us cry

http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=DS&reg1=America&cons2=PS3&reg2=America&cons3=X360&reg3=America&start=39026&end=39411

http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=DS&reg1=All&cons2=PS3&reg2=All&cons3=X360&reg3=All&start=39026&end=39411

Also, if you look at this

http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=Wii&reg1=All&cons2=PS3&reg2=All&cons3=X360&reg3=All&start=38725&end=39425&weekly=1

(thats with total sales)

The PS3 isn't doing that bad, considering the early launch of the 360, they both have the 'exact' same slope. Meaning 1 year ago, the 360 had the same # of sales as the ps3 does today.

Though there 'spike' lasted longer. I wonder what game or price drop that conicided with?

Of course, this figure is always laughable.

http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=PS2&reg1=All&cons2=PS3&reg2=All&cons3=X360&reg3=All&start=39089&end=39425&weekly=1

Anyways, those figures aren't 100% acurate, but alot of 'sites' use it as a source, and aren't anything 'official' and even the 'official' ones, specially by sony will get 'attacked' because both MS, Nintendo, and Sony have a tendency to list the units shipped, not sold...

Dude, your first article says it all...

VG Chartz is to be taken with a pinch of salt, and is more of a guide then actual truth, but it at least shows that PS3 sales are on the up.

And I included what I thought were world wide sales figures to date.  Does that not include EU?

Well, If anything I was just saying that the ps3 sales have increased in other regions, even though in america they haven't been all that 'great'.

Theres a reason the month of november, ps3 sales trippled in japan, and doubled in Europe.

Wii: 519,000 (Total: 5.4 million)

Xbox 360: 366,000 (Total: 7.2 million)

PS3: 121,000 (Total: 2.2 million)

Also, I don't think those figures were 'world wide', the total sales, yes, but the black friday was definately only Americas 'sales'.

Though, I guess other countries don't list there 'daily sales' for 'black friday' instead just list that weeks sales... But I'm sure if you were to add in japans/europes sales to thel ist, the ps3 wouldn't be so low on the lists. :P

Sorry I was unclear, those numbers were for the week of black friday.  Mea Culpa.

I thought the totals were worldwide to date.  I don't think the xbox has really sold 7.2 million in just the US, but I could be wrong.

IF those were from the week of black friday, then those nubmers are definately Only from the US. The totals seem a little off though...I thought the ps3 was up to 5 mil total sold? and ID on't think the 360 has 7.2 in the us.. and I thought the wii was well above the 360 in total units sold world wide? (but slightly lower then 360 in the us?)

anyways, the reason I say those numbers have to be off for 'black friday' specially if they are world wide, is, the ps3 was selling at least 80k PS3s in japan, us, and europe on a weekly basis. hell even 80k in the UK!

(I can't find the links to the PS3 sales of november i've been reading all this time, they 'were' on the PS blog, linked to several other places. I think even a few cnn news pages?)

Oh well, nothing can compete with the power that is the DS, except for the ps2, which still wins the total consoles sold. :P

200 million wooot. :P

Hello everyone, the new NPD sales numbers are out, and I wanted to share some new sales stats that have us excited here at PlayStation central.

For the month of November, PlayStation hardware unit sales exceeded 1.5 million units, including close to half-a-million PLAYSTATION 3 consoles. That’s means nearly 4 times as many PS3s ended up in North American homes in November than the month before.

A slew of incredible titles this holiday season has definitely been a factor in that growth: Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Rock Band, Assassin’s Creed, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, Heavenly Sword, and Pain (did I miss any?) should keep everyone busy well into the new year. And our new ad campaign has helped get the word out that PLAYSTATION 3 is THE gamers’ console.

As far as the PlayStation Portable is concerned, a lot of dudes decided to “Get Your Own” in November. NPD reports over 567,000 PSPs were sold in November, thanks in large part to the popularity of the slimmer, lighter PSP, the debut of the PLAYSTATION Store for PC, and critically acclaimed titles like Beats, Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, and Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow.

While the PS3 has just passed its first birthday, the PlayStation 2 is still kicking hard seven years after launch. The PS2 remains the best-selling gaming platform ever released, with nearly half-a-million more adding to the system’s greatness in the month of November. The release of games such as BUZZ! The Mega Quiz, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, and the limited-edition white PS2 bundled with SingStar Pop means that the PS2 will continue to be a favorite for millions of gamers. [time played stat?]

We know that PlayStation.Blog readers are all about the games – and these numbers are relevant to existing PlayStation owners as well. With the rise of online multiplayer games like Warhawk, Syphon Filter: Combat Ops. and this week’s big-buzz release Unreal Tournament 3, thousands more players can mean a longer, better gaming experience.

So if you’re one of the hundreds of thousands of new members to the PlayStation family, welcome – and thank you! And for those who have been around for awhile, enjoy the influx of new gamers to play with and against!

Well, those numbers (the ones you orginally gave) are only about 4k off, (assuming Sony sold 125k each week of november, but since black friday is a major shopping date, i'm guessing those numbers are even more off :P)

Of course, this is just 'sonys' numbers, I don't know what MS or Nintendos are yet.. but so we'll just have to compare novembers numbers with the others if we get some more 'official' numbers. :P

These are monthly figures.

- DS Lite: 1.53m 1.07m (234%)

- Wii: 981K 462K (89%)

- Xbox 360: 770K 404K (110%)

- PSP: 567K 281K (98%)

- PS2: 496K 312K (169%)

- PS3: 466K 345K (285%)

It may be last year, too, comparing Nov to Nov is more useful than Nov to Oct.  In either case it's good news for the console business.  We all get to profit.
