I've been reading and rereading WOT about ten years now and absolutely love the series! I discovered this forum  a couple of months ago and now decided to join. I've been reading the various discussions here but what are the orgs really about? And I have a problem with my profile, somehow I dont't seem to be able to hide my e-mail address from public... Would be glad if somebody helped me.  :P

The orgs are themed groups.  Some of the themes are obvious.  The White Tower is themed directly from the book.  Others have taken on a life of their own, but are still themed.  The Seanchen are the entertainment org so you can see the obvious difference!  DM also has the RP side if you enjoy that.

 

The best thing to do is to roam around and check all the orgs out.  Test drive all of them and see which fits your personality and likes the best!  And if you have any questions, just ask anyone here.

 

Sorry I don't have a solution for you on your email.  I'm suprised if you choose to hide it that it is still shown.

You have a very cool User name :) It means bullfinch in Finnish. Are you a Finn? I am and in my opinion punatulkut are very pretty birds.

 

I am a member of the Roleplay (RP) so I don't that much about Orgs but they are basically groups of people who like to hang out together and discuss about things and do activities like mafia games, gather recipes and graphics contests.

 

Most Orgs have some kind of a specialty or uniting interest but I am sure that more knowledgeable people will chime in soon :) If you are interested to learn more about the Roleplaying, this post is a good place to start.

I also don't know how to help you with your problem of hiding your email address. You could try Private Messaging (PMing) our Site Admin Matalina and ask what is up with that.

I can't see your email neither, so it must only show to you, so that you can see which one you have :)

 

As for the Orgs, they are the social areas where people will gather do things or just spam... ;) Just pop by them and see if you like anything.

 

But Spec has it...The wolfkin are great, but then I'm a council member there so I'm a little biased ;)

No-one has mentioned the Band of the Red Hand ORG yet - time to change that then! lol! The Band is DM's very own music and travel ORG, so come on by and get involved! We're probably one of those ORGs who have taken on a life of their own, as Paetric put it! We offer lots of activities, and there is something for everyone, whether it be posting, brawling, gambling, making friends and much much more! Maybe you have always wanted to be an Infantry Blademaster, or a Knight/Lady of the Cavalry or an Assassin of the Archers Guild? Now is the time to fulfil that fantasy, as you can aim to be one of those in the Band!

 

As you are from Europe, check out the DM Meets board about EuroMeet 2008. It is being held in Ghent during the summer! Planning is underway at the moment. Join in and come and meet some fellow European DMers as we enjoy the Festival of Ghent!

 

But whatever you do here at DM, have fun! :)
