In KOD at the end of chapter 11 "A Hell In Maderin" Thom says he saw something that could not be.  What did he see? Did Tuon channel?

Thom witness Selucia fighting and realised just how dangerous she was. His comment about not recalling it was him letting Selucia know that he would not reveal her secret.

Nope, he saw Tuon's maid fight like a ninja.

Mat's medallion would've gone cool if Tuon channeled, Thom saw the ladies-maid become a prize fighter.

Does Mat's medallion go cold if there's channeling in its vicinity that doesn't touch it or its wearer?

 

I know it only stops the flows if they touch it or its wearer, and it always goes cold when it does, but does it ever go cold any other time?

Yeah, it goes cold when someone is channeling nearby. The colder it goes, the more power that person is using--and possibly the closer they are coming. It remains uncertain.

Selucia fighting like a "ninja"  was my gut reaction when I read it the first time too.  But, Thom says "...I see things that can't be,..." Why wouldn't Selucia be trained to fight?  Is that forbidden by the Seanchan?  ???

Naw, he simply fell for the visual trap that was set up with Selucia. She is supposed to look a simple maid, and her attractiveness and appearance is supposed to give people a false sense of security, but she is actually a hardcore trained fighter, or 'ninja' as some people have said ::)

 

Thom was simply shocked at her display of prowess. Likely she saved his old hide a few times. ;D

Selucia is Tuon's "Shadow" her personal body guard. The only persons who know she can fight is Tuon and the Empress, may she live forever.

Its a while since I read KoD, but did Mat show the letter about Moiraine being alive? could it not be that? Or was it before that?

My memory's not what it used to be...I seem to have other mens memories...

Thom's had that letter for quite some time now. It's Mat who didn't know what it contained until the end of KoD.
