I recall that in the TGH preview-thingy, two Trollocs and a Myrddraal attended the big "meeting" of Darkfriends.  Why?  The Myrddraal may have been an early version of Shaidar Haran, but why those two Trollocs out of what's otherwise been portrayed as a species of non-individual, dispensible creatures?  And what might Ba'alzamon have told them? 

 

The only explanation I've though of is that, as Trollocs were a more major feature of the earliest books, RJ may have been planning something for them that was later dropped.  Any other ideas?

Haven't read TGH in a while.

They were just a kind of "honor guard" to show Ba'alzamon's power.  All the Darkfriends present were probably used to getting their orders from Myrddraal ... that one was bowing to Ba'alzamon reinforced his position ... and the illusion of him being the embodiment of the Dark One (see "Bors" reaction).
