Top Ten Movies of 2007

Featured Replies

I prefered Shaun of the Dead.

Also i just realised i left off Little Miss Sunshine. :o

Considering I'm actually a fan of the Evil Dead series, and actually like the worst of the Zombie flicks, you'd imagine I'd have seen it in theaters...  Sadly, I've gotten out of touch with my roots.

Shaun eats Hot Fuzz any day, but thats like fretting about which is prettier, sunrise or sunset.  Both are comedic genius.

Luckers, Which one was Little Miss Sunshine?

Little girl in beauty pageant, whole family makes road trip in old minivan, guy from the Office whose name I'm commiting blasphemy by forgetting is the suicidal brother, etc etc.

Wasn't that in 05 or 06'?

I command that it not be.

It's pretty much exactly what Caddy says. A dysfunctional family traveling to let the little girl in a beauty pagent. It's got all the old crew in it--the chubby little girl who wants to be a beauty queen, the son thats taken a vow of silence and hates everyone, the suicidal gay uncle, the pyramid scheme father, the heroin addict father.

Its also quite possible the most feel-good movie ever. It's totally brilliant.

I have to agree with Luckers about Little Miss Sunshine. I think it's the best movie I've seen this year, although it is indeed from 2006. I caught it on a random weekend afternoon while I was dogsitting for my parents (they have HD cable and an HD tv... *drool*), and I was not expecting to like it as much as I did. I tend to find things to be overrated, even when I think they are good, but this one really did deserve all the accolades that it got. It restored just a tiny piece of faith in humanity in the heart of this cynic. ^_^

How has There Will Be Blood only gotten one mention?  I haven't seen it yet, but it looks like pure genius.

What Sin?  Again, Once was widely released in 2007.  If it can be nominated for an Oscar for 2007, I can put it in my top ten list for the year. *g*
