Melianna and Jasmyne do not have roomies. Jasmyne's mentor is a White who will not be spoken of in Jasmyne's presence. *nod*

Hmm... To be honest, i only now noticed this topic was in fact old and resurrected.

 

Still, considering the Novice and Accepted room lists on the WT site is horribly outdated, how about we use this thread here to get an update on who's rooming with who?

 

The final result could be used to update the WT site, keeping this thread for the purpose of updating and helping people find available rooms ^_^

As soon as i get time, i'll make a new sticky and take this one down (per Jade's suggestion) - we can do it that way there, then.

 

But i'm slightly confused: I updated the Site on Saturday - how can it be out of date?

Jas never had a mentor cuz she started as Accepted, so I'm making her mentor a random White that she avoids like the plague because everytime she saw Jasmyne, she would make her sit through long lectures on logic and philosphy. ;D

Well... Not out of date per se, but more out of date given that even though we have a couple of new Novices atm, they're definitely not hanging from the rafters like the site implies.

 

There's, what, 118 Novices listed there? A number of them became Accepted and/or Aes Sedai (noticed Eadon and Ata in there) so even though the new Novices have been added, there's a lot of snipping to do. Which is good, considering we're bringing 51 Novice rooms down to 25 ^^;

 

Also, there's no table for Accepted. Should be easy to fix by adding a second table ^^;

well, it's there so people can refer back if they want - I don't see the need for fiddling with it.

 

If there are Accepted who want to have roommates, then I guess we're going to have to make another list

Hmm, how about this then:

 

Novices

 

(table with numbers 1 through 25, with at most three Novices to a room (usually 2 or 3))

 

Accepted

 

(table with numbers 1 through 15, with at most two Accepted to a room (usually 1, sometimes 2))

(not numbered, but here's where the old roommates go. Both inactives and those that have become Aes Sedai, but the active Novices and Accepted go in the top two tables)

Oh, and though Accepted don't necessarily have to have roommates, making a list for them regardless would allow us to actually assign them to room numbers, providing additional IC discussion topics 'Hey, you're staying in my old room. Did you know the third stone from the bottom left is loose, and you can pass notes to the room next to you from there?'

 

Of course, said list would ALSO show who'd be in the next room... ^^;

Well, look at it this way. According to the Active list at the OP table, there are a grand total of 41 active WT members. Now, even if ALL of them were Novices, we'd still end up with room to spare with 25 rooms, and by using all of them we'd average out at less than two per room (50 > 41)

 

Given that there aren't going to be 75 Novices at any given time before MoL comes out, and that a number of them will end up becoming Inactive, or dropped in the natural selection process we call RPing, the amount of Accepted at any given time will not be too far above 30, since once people make it to there they're usually going to stick around long enough to make it to Aes Sedai.

 

The odd second or third character can breeze past the reqs as well fairly quickly, so Accepted isn't an issue either. And given that there's no set amount of rooms reserved for Aes Sedai, they don't have that problem to begin with.

 

In fact, should all the rooms be taken it could even spark some RP about new rooms needing to be added to the Dorms, and get some people from the FL over as masons and hired help too. Happened in the Books as well, though to free Siuan, so 'regular' workers aren't an uncommon sight on the grounds themselves. The Novices could complain about being forced to stay three to a room as newly raised Accepted will need to take a Novice dorm room due to the Accepted dorms being full...

 

But i'm getting ahead of myself. Unless there's going to be a massive inflow of new members, i can see the room count working out for the WT itself. When MoL hits the market, this will probably happen, but with a little luck we can add some rooms (numbers are easily added after all) while making an RP out of it.
