Zari and Zela walked down the halls of the Fortress of the Light. Zari was using his spear as a walking stick, and Zela had her axes in her belt loops. They both had a content look to them. After their long search, they found something to fight for. Their Mother would have wanted them to fight for the Light. Fighting the Shadow would have made her almost as happy as fighting the Tairens. But as for the now, they needed to find the head smirk or something like that. From there, they would know what to do. The question was, where was this person? Where were they? They had never been in a place this big before. Each hall looked just like the other, white floor, white walls, white ceiling, small traces of yellow here and there.

“I do believe someone needs to find a better decorator for these halls.”

“Yes, they do, but that do not be our current problem, Zela. We do be needin’ this head smirk” A flash of white came from the front of the hallway. A Child walked down the hall. “There be someone. Let’s be askin’ him.”

“Hey you, the one that be havin’ a face! Come here.”

“Your tact do be surprising me every day, Zela. Be pardonin’ me sir. Could you be takin’ us to this Head Smirk? We do be wanting to become Children of the Light.”

“Oh, you want the Head Clerk. This way.” The Child motioned to follow him and they followed. They stopped by a door at the end of a hallway not far from them. “In there.” He said, turning back the way her came. The two went in.

Inseparable Twins

IC:

"No."

"But why?"

"No. Absolutely not."

"Daddy..."

"Jaclyn, I don't want to hear it."

Roudal was sitting behind his desk, being pestered by his beloved daughter. Thankfully, it was the only one he had. Pretending to be listening, he surveyed the surrounding. For a change, there was no raucous in the office by his assistants. Roudal picked up on them not appreciating the title assistants. So naturally, he used the title whenever the opportunity arouse. But the silence within the office was a bit odd. Everyone seemed to be occupied with papers, yet Roudal couldn't help but notice the half smiles most of them were wearing. They were eavesdropping on the conversation. Oh, but they were going to pay for it. Oh, yes.

"Yes, yes!"

"Oh, daddy! Thank you! I knew you'd end up saying yes!" Jaclyn gave Roudal a quick hug and ran out of the office. Roudal remained in his seat, wide eyed, horrified at the thought of what exactly he gave his daughter permission to do. Leaning back, he sighed. Her mother could deal with that. After all his job was to be reckless and his wife's was to be the sensible one. Still, he sent one of his assistants (hehe) to his quarters with a note to his wife, letting her know that if Jaclyn didn't return till midday, she should get a little worried. And to fetch his mended uniform from the seamstress.

Stretching, Roudal made a mental note of returning in the evening and making a mess in the papers so the next day he could shout at his assistants for being disorganized. That should teach them. Seeing one of them smiling in his direction, Roudal smiled back, totally shocking the other man. Oh yes, revenge was sweeter then honey. And tastier by far (Roudal was never a honey fan).

Looking up from his papers, Roudal noticed two younglings standing in front of him. Raising an eyebrow, he put on his regular frown and spoke in his impatient tone. "You enlisting?" Both nodded simultaneously. Roudal blinked. Odd birds. "Full name, age and place of origin. Each of you."

OOC:

Don't let Roudal frighten your twinnies. he's a softie in the end ;)

RP their thoughts about him, answering him and stuff. I'll take it from there to the next part (after you post).

Oh, and welcome honey  *hugs*

Zari and Zela studied the frowning man who appeared to hate his job and perhaps even life itself. Perfect for Zela, thought Zari. He sounded rather impatient and a touch nasty. But, in the soldiering business, everyone did that, and it got worse with experience.

"Full name, age and place of origin. Each of you."

"My name do be..."

"Zela and his name do be...

"Zari. We do be..."

" twins 22 years of age. We do come from..."

"The city of Illian. We did be..."

"Mercenaries to be earnin' moeny for..."

"Our sick mother who do be graveridden..."

"So now we do be needin' somethin' to be fightin' for."

They said it in such timing that it would have sounded like a regular conversation had thier voices been the same. The wonderful timing of twins. Most assume that they can read each others' minds, but they just know each other much to well.

They realized what they just did, by looking at the face of the Head Smirk. They looked at each other, then looked back at him, then looked back at each other, then turned back to him with the most sheepish grins. Zela started to snicker. They had a feeling that this man would cause them countless hours of amusement.

Synchronized Talkers

IC:

Roudal eyed the pair passively, wondering if they were going to break into a song, using him as a backup singer, or do an interpretive dance on top of his desk. At that moment he wouldn't have been neither shocked or surprised by such a development. Mostly because it was quite obvious that the two standing in front of him were completely and utterly insane.

The more days passed, the more ludicrous enlistees seemed to be. From relatively normal, to odd, to peculiar and then downright scary. But it was not up to Roudal to do the sorting. He was there to handle the papers, not the initiates. That was under the care of the instructors and trainers. They were the ones who thinned out the wave of initiates according to necessity and compatibility. And he didn't envy them one bit. He was the smart one for having the job he had!

Roudal wrote down the information given to him while eying the pair sideways. One could never be too careful. He had a feeling that letting those two out of his sight might not be the best of ideas. Also he made a mental note to tell Ezekiel to keep an eye on the two troublemakers. He was sure Ezekiel would have tremendous fun with them. Oh yes, lovely.

Closing the sign up book, Roudal raised his eyes. Keeping a stoney expression, he leaned back in his chair. "Report to the Quartermaster's office. Her name is officer Emanuella. She will take care of your living arrangements and uniforms. Any questions you have, direct to her. Run along, then. No time to waste. Chup chup!!!".

OOC:

RP your twinnies reactions and report to Emanuella's office for some luvin'  :D

Zela and Zari watched very closely as the Head Smirk wrote down the information. They thought he would burst into uncontrolable laughter, or have his eyes pop out or something else amusing to them. But no. Just a stoney face watching them sideways. They knew he was laughing on the inside.

"Report to the Quartermaster's office. Her name is officer Emanuella. She will take care of your living arrangements and uniforms. Any questions you have, direct to her. Run along, then. No time to waste. Chup chup!!!".

"Yes, sir."

"Aye aye, Head Smirk!"

They turned and half ran to the door. On the other side, they burst into a fit of laughter. They were positive Roudal heard them. About five minutes later when laughter was down to a mere chuckle and tears dried up, they made to go down the hall to see officer Emanuella.

"Wait a minute! We did be forgettin' to ask for directions."

"I will go ask one of the others in there. One of them must know." Zela opened the door back up and yelled "Where do be the Quartermaster's office?" One of the men closest the door gave some hasty directions before going back to his paperwork. She re-closed the door. "It do be thata way." The headed down the plain white hallway, never seeming to go anywhere. Another lovely feature was that Zela was inpossible with directions. So, a good hour and a half later, they did finally arrive at the Quartermaster's office. Zela poked her head in the door, with Zari's head right above her's.

"Officer..."

"Emanuella?"

More Insane than I originally planned.

IC:

"Officer..."

"Emanuela?"

Emanuela's eyebrows rose. "Yes?". A young woman and a young man walked into her office. They seemed a bit too syncronized in a way. Not only by speech, but also by their movements. She never saw anything like it. It was quite mesmerizing. "Please, take a seat." Gesturing to the two chairs in front of her desk, Emanuela couldn't help but smile when they both sat down in the very same manner.

The girl handed her a note. Emanuela took it and immediatly, recognizing Roudal's hand writing.

Zela and Zari. Already Processed. Odd birds.

Roudal

Emanuela smiled and shook her head. Roudal sometime lacked tact. He was amusing, but not so prudent. Giving the two a motherly smile, Emanuela spoke. "I can't tell you how happy I am to have you join our ranks. It's a very important step so you're probably nerovous. But you need not worry. Once you get into the routine, you'll be fine."

Emanuela opened the room assigning book and flipped through it. "I'm afraid we have a seperation between woman and man when it comes to accomidations. So you will have seperate rooms, in case you were wondering. Zela, I have a free space for you. You have a room of yourself for now, until any future initiates join you. Same goes for you, Zari. There's a closet in each room. You will find six sets of uniforms in it. Take care of them as they will not be replaced."

Scribbling the number of the room on a note for each of them, Emanuela gave it to them and smiled. "I really do wish you the best of luck, dearies. May the light always illuminate your way." Emanuela sat back, content at the new addition to the fortress, watching as the two left the study.

OOC:

Hon, RP your reaction to Emanuela's words. And then head out with the twinnies to their new rooms to settle in. After you post, consider the entry done (when you do, I'll update it as a fulfilled requirement). ;)

"I can't tell you how happy I am to have you join our ranks. It's a very important step so you're probably nervous. But you need not worry. Once you get into the routine, you'll be fine."

Zari's face stayed the same nonchalant expression. Zela looked about to burst into laughter. Them? Nervous? It was a rare and momentous day that they were nervous. They fed off each other. Nothing made them nervous.

"I'm afraid we have a seperation between woman and man when it comes to accomidations. So you will have seperate rooms, in case you were wondering. Zela, I have a free space for you. A sorrowful frown drew itself on Zari. They had never been apart. He didn't think he could live without Zela right by his side. He looked over to Zela to see her reaction, but she had that smirk that he knew meant she was up to something.

"I do be thanking you, Officer Emanuela. We'll be on our way now. Come along, Zari." Zari got up and followed after his sister. This was so unlike her. They left her office and Zari quickly turned to his sister.

"Why do you be so happy about this? They do be separating us!"

"Nonsense, Zari. I do be moving into your room. I do no mind being in the men's quarters. Let's be going to get my uniforms."

"But Zela, that do be against the rules!"

"That may be, but rules were meant to be broken. Especially silly ones like that one do be. Besides, who ever did be hearin' of separatin' the Chasei Twins." Zela winked and smiled. Zari smiled back with a grin matching hers to the smallest fraction. "Aye, Zela. You do be right. Let's be getting your stuff."
