Being a music student, my favorite song seems to change on a weekly basis, which means that it's impressive that my current favorite song has been so since the beginning of October.

Title: The Poet and the Pendulum

Artist: Nightwish

Reason: It perfectly exemplifies the possible symbiosis of metal, choir, and symphony into a fourteen minute masterpiece that could easily be called an aural orgasm.

And before I get in trouble for wordage, 'aural' simply has to do with hearing and/or the ears.
