Well..all of you are loves of my life!!! *grins*  So who of you are here, there, around or lurking?  Hmmm?  LOL  Time for February check in kinsters!!  And as mentioned in the February Plans for the month...February 20th is National Read a Fairy Tale day!!!  So check in telling us what your favorite fairy tale is!  Feel free to add a picture or song, a memory of the fairytale or even if there is one that you just can't stand!!!

*grins*  I'll start us off here...

Once upon a time..way back in time before there was cable TV or Satallite, back before video tape or DVD or even blueray...people had to make do with three sometimes even four TV stations...yes only three or four!  Way back then, special shows or movies would be shown once a year!  Oh this was exciting..the family gathered around to watch these events!!  My mom would make popcorn, and my brothers would lay on the floor in the living room and not even yell at me for snuggling between them with my pillow and teddy bear!  We'd get to have rootbeer and even stay up past our bedtimes for these special shows....*grins*  The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music...Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang...*sighs* but my favorite..my very most favorite was the 1965 production of Roger's and Hammerstien's..

*smiles*  I sooo wanted to be her!  And we did watch it every year..then for a long time it wasn't shown!  And then it came out on video about ten years ago..it was one of the best Christmas gifts my husband ever gave me!!!

But honestly...I love the Cinderella story and most of the movies or shows that use the fairy tale!  Everafter, Ella Enchanted,....

So what is your favorite?!?

I'm lurking as usual.  I'll have to think on the Fairytale.  I used to like to watch Disney's Little Mermaid all the time (in high school... haha).

We all know The Sound of Music is my fave, so if that counts... hehe...  Don't think I've ever seen that Cindrella.  And I do somewhat recall TV before cable... lol.  Even when there was cable, we lived in the boonies in WI, so we only had about four channels anyway.

The Little Mermaid! I drive my DH crazy with it and made him go see a midnight showing of it when they rereleased it in theaters a few years ago. Then I sang all the way through it... *smirks*

"Look at this stuff. Isn't it neat?"

I'm here. Love Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, was always one of my favourite films as a kid and of the Disney ones I really liked Beauty & the Beast.  ;D

Hmmm, fairy tales, that's a bit harder as I like most of them but probably The Princess and the Pea... no idea why but it fascinated me when I was little.

ZOMG!!! Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! "Toot sweet! Toot sweet!" that has to be my favorite ;D

but I'm lurking.

and htis thread reminds me of Queen

*bursts into song*

Love of my life, you've hurt me

You've taken my love and now you leave me

Love of my life, can't you seeeeee?

Bring it back, bring it back!

Don't take it away from me because

You don't knooow what it means to meeeeee!

"In my own little corner

in my own little chair

I can be whatever I want to be..."

*sighs* I remember twinnie!

I am lurking - hope you don't mind my joining in. :)

My favorite fairy tale was the one about the tin soldier who loved the ballerina paper doll.

um I haven't seen CCBB in years.....wel actually decades.....man, saying it that way will make ya feel old....lol.

Ummm favorite FT.....Probably the Brother's Grimm version of Cinderella.  Mainly because the evil step-sisters got maimed at the end....*Doesn't lol, so he doesn't seem sadistic*  :o

I'm just checking in on my way out to send out my post-valentines cards!  :P

and I agree on the brothers grim Sam! tho I dont mind loling when the sisters cut their heals off and get their eyes carved out  ;D

*checks in while her boss isnt looking*

I like Beauty and the Beast. Oh, and the Princess Bride!

I"M HERE!!!!!

I love Mulan...she is my hero! *G*

I'm here, but not much.

I enjoyed some of those movies when I was younger, probably what inspired a lot of my creativity.  Those were moments I could just let my mind run off and forget where I was.  I've always been a big fan of the sound of music, I actually know all the lines and words from it, but I never really had a favorite fairy tale.  None ever really grabbed me.

Okay slightly off-topic, but I couldn't help myself.  As I arrived at work tonight I walked past a tv with Glen Beck on(He has a CNN rant show).  He was talking about the recent shift in the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray battle.  He laughed at the people who rushed out and bought HDDVD stuff...since it appears to now be the loser.  Then he made the comment that since he waited he can now spend his money on the important stuff.....seeing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on 1080 lines of resolution.

Of course he was being sarcastic about the lack of necessity in watching a non HD movie on HD technology....but, I immediately thought of this thread and all the CCBB talk....lol.

we just watched mulan in class for our section on Chinese Art in Fine Arts Surveys Honors. Now we are on Japanese art and I'm going to convince her to let us draw anime ;D

but I absolutely LOVE Mushu!! "You are one lucky bug."

Mushu is great....

My powers are beyond your mortal imagination. For instance, my eyes can see straight through your armor.

[Mulan smacks him]

Mushu: Oooh! All right, that's it! Dishonor! Dishonor on your whole family!

[to Cri-Kee]

Mushu: Make a note of this. Dishonor on you, dishonor on your cow, dis...

*rofl*

I'm here. I'm back in lurker-mode, but I'm here!

I have lots of favorite fairy tales. I love Sleeping Beauty for the spinning wheel, since I have one myself and someday I'll even use it again! I love Disney's Beauty and the Beast... I saw it no fewer than ten times in the theater. The book Tam Lin by Pamela Dean has always been a favorite, and I can quote the entire movie of The Princess Bride with very little provocation!  ;D

I have to say that Beauty and the Beast is my favorite. The disney version though because I loved Belle since she loved to read a lot.

I'm here!

I think I liked all fairy tales. I'm a sucker for fancy magic and stuff. When I was younger, I would spend hours running around making up my own fairy tales!

I saw Beauty and the Beast once and it scared me (I was really little) i haven't watched it since. My fav is Lion King. It was just so cute. :D I loved Mulan but I don't own it. I might have to go buy it.

Yeah, sorry about the humongous delay......

I lurk around, sometimes I'm here and sometimes I'm just not, but for now I'm generally around.

I love all the Disney classics and such.  There're a lot of kids in my family, so we own just about all the Disney movies/musicals that I've heard of.  I lovelovelove Mulan, and it's technically my favorite, but I have this respect set aside for Beauty and the Beast because it has awesome music and it's such a beautiful story.

I LOVE PRINCESS BRIDE!!!!!  I swear, that should be required viewing for everyone everywhere....... (and reading)

I also like Hercules (disney version).

Anyway, as far as fairy tales go, has anyone ever read the book East?  It's really good, and that sort of fairy tale-ish stuff is what I like.

Inigo Montoya: I donna suppose you could speed things up?

Westley: If you're in such a hurry, you could lower a rope or a tree branch or find something useful to do.

Inigo Montoya: I could do that. I have some rope up here, but I do not think you would accept my help, since I am only waiting around to kill you.

Westley: That does put a damper on our relationship.
