Synopsis:

A made-for-TV movie based on the book A MOTHER'S GIFT by Britney Spears and her mother, Lynne, BRAVE NEW GIRL tells the story of a young Texan girl with aspirations for stardom. Holly is talented, beautiful, and diligent, but she lacks the financial means to pursue her goals, until she wins a scholarship to a prestigious east coast music school. Her prospects suddenly on the rise, Holly must now deal with competition and jealousy from her peers, as well as the cutthroat world of music. Luckily she has a strong network of family and friends, including her roommate Ditz and her very supportive mother. Through them Holly is able to learn the true meaning of being a star!

    I don't remember anything else about it, I think I was very young when I saw it.  I wasn't really expecting you to find it, I just through maybe it was more popular than I realized and that someone else here would recognize it. Guess not!
