The UK has commercials! Funny ones sometimes, too. Heh.

 

However, in the UK, everyone who owns a TV must pay a monthly tax on it.

 

Personally, if there really were an option to pay a few bucks a month to never have to see a commercial again, I'd be all over it.

And it is only for 2 channels (BBC1 and BBC2). I have no idea if it covers BBC3, BBC4 and all the other BBC channels we get. But that money basically goes towards the programmes the BBC makes (both radio and television) as well as the pockets of the actors.
