Moiraine is a smart woman how does she get it so wrong in FoH Chapter 2.  In it she says the nations will fall in line when the AS come?  I can only think she did it on purpose but I don't see any reason.

Perhaps if Rand had done what she wanted, then what she wanted might have happened.  Moiraine read the prophecies wrong, blowing it especially on the Aiel.  Plus, this is not over; maybe a united tower under Egwene will help unite the nations at the last minute.

Arguably the nations might have come to the Dragon had the Tower supported it--but a couple of things are wrong with that. For one the Tower would have held the final charge, which would have been disasterous, for another the various Forsaken wouldn't have allowed it, and for a third the Seanchan wouldn't have joined it.

Moiraine however couldn't predict any of that--she was beginning to see through her inbuilt awe for the Tower, but not enough to truly understand the dangers of what would have occured and what wouldn't have occured had they ended in power, and the other two were outside her scope of knowledge.

She's a brilliant woman, but she's not omniscient, and she's a victim to her education.

benr:  All Rand has to do is unite himself and the Seanchan between them they control both halves, except for the borderlands and Murandy.  The Light has a lock on the borderlands on way or another, and we haven't seen much of Murandy so they're the only real wildcard.
