Forkroot is only supposed to work on people who can channel right? So how are ronde macura and luci knocked out by it in the tFoH? Are we to assume these two could channel or is it a mistake on rjs part? If ronde could channel how did the seanchan not discover this and capture her as a damane when she told them about forkroot? Could someone please answer this or link to where it has been discussed already pls.

Forkroot is a herb with the ability to block an individual's ability to touch the One Power. In larger doses it also incapacitates and eventually renders the channeler unconscious. It remains to be seen whether forkroot works on men and those who cannot channel as well as it does on women, however due to the other effects on a dosed individual it may be safe to assume that it does.

 

From what i understand, forkroot works on everyone. For some reason though, channelers are affected more than non-channelers, but that only has an effect on the dosage needed to get a person unconscious, not whether or not a non-channeler is considered immune. They're resistant, that's all.

No, I don't think that's right.  Remember, the Seamchan feed it to women and collar those who collapse.  Morgase had to be carried after taking only a swallow at the end of KoD.

 

Maybe RJ made a mistake (gasp!) or Nyn fed them something else. 

 

I just don't see N&E boiling up a couple of gallons to make the other two fall out.

 

Someone needs to do a re-read and let us know what it says.  (I don't have my books, otherwise i'd do it.)

Since it takes a lot more to have any effect on a non-channeler, figuring out a dose that only effects channelers is quite easy with some trial & error.
