Also I've never been one to speak Internet, except for the occasional ironic usage of teh.

It wasn't internet back then.  It was NEW and FRESH and HIP... like when JK came out in end of '97.. and the term "noobs" was coined for someone who has had the game for a while but sucks at it.

That's the sort of thing I mean, like "JK"; I never saw the point of acronymic speech. I was one of those people who was always, always offended by people who said "u r". Trends, bah!
