Selene had hoped this night would be a full moon, but as soon as the Mistress of Novices had announced the next freeday, she realized it would happen when there was only a sliver of a waxing moon, but it would have to do.  As excited as she was about the freeday that was coming up, where she might have the chance to go visit her horse and her brother, she was even more excited about the night before.  She had hoped this night would be a full moon, but as soon as the Mistress of Novices had announced the next freeday, she realized it would happen when there was only a sliver of a waxing moon, but it would have to do.

Selene had a plan, and she'd gotten begrudging permission from the Mistress of Novices to go ahead with her plan.

Selene took advantage of the relative freedom in which the novices were allowed to eat to explain to all of the girls she had met, however circumspectly, that there was going to be a sleepover in her and Carina's room tonight.  She'd made friends with the kitchen Mistress that could hardly stand most of the novices by regularly and sincerely complimenting the food they provided here at the tower and it only took a small bit of flattery and smiling to acquire from her a huge basket of cookies, crackers, cheese, sweets, pastries, and four different jugs of milk, lemonade, and two different kinds of tea.  It was enough food to feed an army!  Well, an army of girls staying up far too late into the night and giggling.

As she hauled her cargo up to her rooms, freed of the obligation to curtsy to everything in sight by the fact that she was very obviously under a heavy load, she thought with great expectation at the fun the girls would have tonight.  She'd even invited Deanne to come along, mostly because it would have been rude to do otherwise, but she fervently hoped that an evening where they were free to just be girls and would have a chance to ease off from the stress they'd all been under recently, might magically turn the girl from the insufferable snob she was into a friend.  No one would ever accuse Selene of being either a pessimist or a realist.  She even started to whistle merrily as she carried the heavy basket, but a stern look from a passing Aes Sedai made that little joy fizzle out with a sigh.  Thankfully, she ducked down the hallway towards her rooms before the woman could scold her for not being happy and pliant about being glared at.

She'd gathered a ton of ribbons and four extra hair brushes from the seamstress and one of the Novice store rooms, in case anyone forgot theirs, and while the room she shared with Carina was small to fit so many girls in, it would have to do.  They couldn't very well take over one of the large antechambers elsewhere in the Tower to have their fun and games, now could they?  Or... could they?  No, no.. Larindhra Sedai is already trusting me enough to allow the sleep over to happen at all.  I should be grateful and well behaved.  She chided herself silently, but couldn't stop the mischievious smile that curved her lips as she nodded to herself and then left her quarters to go run all the way to the library.

She should have visited it earlier, but she just hadn't been able to find the time to do so.  It took only a moment for her to locate the book on unsubstantiated spiritual hauntings, Maelina Sedai had been a bit of a macabre Brown, but she'd been nice enough to record all of the stories she had heard third hand as well as those few she'd heard from supposed first hand sources, and the book was thick with spooky stories that, if a bit dry, could certainly be spiced up generously to fit the mood.  For possibly the first time ever, Selene was happy she was not yet an Aes Sedai and would be able to embellish the stories she read.  She was fairly sure exaggeration fell under the 'Not say a word that is not true' clause, and as they were written, the stories wouldn't even scare a mouse.  Well, perhaps a particularly imaginative mouse.

Selene scrawled her information in the ledger and ducked out the library, wondering at her chances at getting wine for the girls to drink.  With the fact that everyone called them child and didn't seem to trust novices to make their own decisions a whit, she doubted it and she didn't really have time to go and butter up one of the tower servants who manned the wine cellar.  Thrusting the idea aside, she hurried back to her room to bathe and then wait for the girls to arrive.

Even in the Novice Quarters, Jerinia was sneaking over to the room Selene would be throwing the party in. Though she had less need to be on guard as she would be needing to in any other part of the Tower, the Novice dorms were in no way off limits to Aes Sedai, or even other Novices and Accepted trying to score some quick brownie points.

Still, as she made her way to the room in question with as much stealth as a six foot redhead could muster, she couldn't help but feel slightly nervous at breaking a rule. Oh, the Light knows she's broken just about any rule in the books since arriving at the Tower, but those were all accidental. This time, she'd be deliberately ignoring curfew, breaking a rule on purpose! Regardless, she was invited, and a party would be just what she needed to get rid of the penances she had been sent on three times per week on average. You'd think the Aes Sedai were sadistic or something.

Shuddering at the thought, she brushed some hair out of her face -- lack of hair dye was making the color fade back to her natural blonde, it seemed -- before softly tapping on the door with her fingertips. As the door opened, she was quick to scamper in to avoid being seen.

- "Hihiii, looks like i'm the first. How're you?" ^_^

Giggling nervously, she kept her voice down. Judging by how well their teachers could hear them whisper in class, she suspected they had some kind of weave for it and didn't want to take any chances. At least, not before she learned to set up a ward against eavesdropping. The mental image of the Mistress of Novices pressing her ear against the door was amusing, and almost made her burst out laughing before she could catch herself.

Isn't afraid of the Big Bad MoN

Selene had told Sarena about the slumber party while they were in the library doing some study after their first class. Sarena wasnt sure what she should be expecting, but if it was anything like the nights she and her sisters secretly used to share then it was going to be a great night. Suddenly she felt really sad, remembering all the fun times she and her sisters used to share together just wasnt going to be the same now with Jillen gone. Sarena felt like cuddling up to her pillow and crying herself to sleep, but she remembered that she had promised Selene that she would be there. It took a while for her to regain some form of composure, splashing some water on her face and tiding her hair she was finally ready to go over to Selenes room. Peering out the doorway into the dark hallway she checked to see if anyone else was wondering the corridors. Slipping out into the hallway she hurried in the direction of Selenes room.

Slinking along the dark corridor she saw ahead another novice slip into Selene's room, she hoped that she wasnt the last to arrive. As she came to the door another novice bumped right into the back of her, "OH!" When Sarena turned round to see who it was she started giggling, quickly stifling her giggles she put her arm round the other girl, who was also giggling and they both entered the dorm room arm in arm.

As soon as she entered she saw Selene and another girl who introduced herself as Jerinia, Sarena then turned to the novice she came in with and introduced herself

" Hi im Sarena, Whats your name?"

Sarena Asnobar

Giggling novice

The note landed on top of Mirandha's parchment seemingly out of nowhere. On a tiny slip of paper was the brief note "Party. Selene's room. Tomorrow night." Mirandha looked up and to her left and right. Was this note meant for her? She didn't normally get invited to parties; especially for parties she wasn't sure she was meant to be at. It's not that her fellow novices disliked her; it's just that Mirandha was hard to get to know. She didn't exactly go out of her way to talk to people, and she found no reason as to why she should work hard at penetrating a group of friends. Besides, one day they would all be either Aes Sedai or put out of the Tower, and from what she could gather it didn't seem like many Aes Sedai moved around in groups of friends.

She caught the eye of a girl who must've tossed the note at her. The other novice smiled, the second act in just a few short minutes that took Mirandha by surprise. She smiled back an actual genuine smile. Even though it seemed a bit impractical friends would be a nice thing to have. Besides, all this studying and hard work was starting to get her down. She needed a break. She would never make a decent Aes Sedai if she made herself insane from studying.

So Mirandha decided to give the party a shot. After all, her mentor was pressuring her to get out and socialize with her other novices. Here was her chance to prove that she wasn't an anti-social psychopath or a snob. Besides, this party held more promise than any of the formal parties held at her family's estate. At least at this party no one would be criticizing her posture or forcing her to talk to bald headed bores.

The next day was a freeday, and Mirandha reveled in her lack of chores. Her delicate hands were turning into those she would have recognized on a scullery maid. It was quite depressing. Finally, night fell. Mirandha slipped out of her rooms and down the hall until she found Selene's room. At that moment she bumped head first into another novice in front of her. The two started giggling as the other girl wrapped an arm around Mirandha. They entered the room as the introductions started. The girl she walked in with turned to her and asked, "<i>Hi im Sarena, Whats your name?</i>"

"Mirandha." She replied succinctly. Apparently her whole being friendly approach needed work.

Sarena was so excited to be at her first slumber party that when the girl answered "Mirandha", she didnt even notice that the girl didnt say any more. Steering her toward an open space on the floor she started telling Mirandha that she came from Ebou Dar and had three sisters, she was going to continue then she realised that she hadn't given Mirandha a chance to talk yet. Pausing, she then said " Sorry I get so excited sometimes, you just have to tell me to stop." "So where did you live before you came here?".

She listened closely and secretly hoped that she and Mirandha would be great friends. Then they both looked up as some more girls came into the room. Introducing herself to them she thought this was going to be a wonderful night.

After the girls introduced themselves Sarena got up and asked Mirandha if she would like any blueberry tea, when she said 'yes' Sarena bounced up and went over to get some of the refreshing tea for them. Sometimes Selene and the other girl joined their conversation and they giggled whenever one of them mentioned sneaking down to the training yards for a peek.....

Selene was plaiting her hair when Jerinia knocked so it was just as well that the girl let herself in.  She grinned brightly and moved through the rest of the waist-length braid with as much haste as she could and then tied it off with one of her numerous white ribbons.  Then she hopped up from her bed and gave the much taller girl a swift and warm hug.

"I'm great!" Selene's voice was an excited but hushed whisper, matching Jerinia's tone.  Whispers were like that, they were infectious.  When someone whispered at you, you couldn't help but lean close and whisper back. "I'm so glad you came, this is going to be so much fun once everyone gets here.  While Selene knew she had the Mistress's permission for the sleepover, Larindhra Sedai was incredibly vague about just how much freedom they would have tonight and she was sure that if they were loud and squealing like ninnies the woman would not be well pleased.

She let go of Jerinia but held fast to the girl's hands as she continued to talk. "We shall have so much fun tonight, I got a whole ton of food from the kitchens and this wonderful book about ghost stories, and oh look! More girls!"  Selene broke away from Jerinia and moved to hug Sarena and Mirandha at the same time. "You didn't have any trouble finding my room did you two? Please, come in.  There's plenty to snack on and some tea and this is Jerinia." She motioned to the tall Malkier girl with a welcoming smile and then motioned back, "This is Sarena here, and that's Mirandha."

With that, Selene moved over to where she had spread the food out across her dresser, the basin that usually sat there tucked away into the corner.  She got glasses out for each of the girls and then asked what they wanted to drink. "There's tea, blueberry tea, milk, lemonade, and honey to add to any of them, although the blueberry tea is already delightfully sweetened from the juice.  Once everyone else gets here the real fun will begin."  Selene could not possibly have been smiling brighter, and her eyes shone with excitement.

Jerinia giggled in barely withheld excitement. While the food and drinks weren't the reasons for her to come over, it hadn't been until she had stepped into the room that she realised just how long it had been since she had last enjoyed herself like this. She made a mental note to describe it in the next letter heading for Ghealdan. While her mother had worked in an Inn in Tar Valon previously, she had had to move westwards due to circumstance.

Still, despite being a bit sad that she wouldn't be able to make a quick visit to her mother -- not that she could, that was a priviledge only Accepted could hope to ask for -- that wasn't why she was here now. Beaming a smile that could have matched Selene's on an average day -- she was in rare form now! -- she waited for Selene to introduce her to Sarena and Mirandha. Which was kind of funny, as Mirandha and her shared rooms.

- "Hi Sarena, nice to meet you. Hi Mirandha, glad you could make it." ^_^

Though she wasn't all too familiar with her roommate yet due to all the time so far she'd had to spend doing chores, she was looking forward to seeing the girl unwind a bit. Not to mention have some fun of her own as well, especially with the ghost stories. She hoped the writer came from the Borderlands, those stories were always heaps better than the ones from the Southlands featuring one or two Trollocs and calling that scary.

Laughs at what Southlanders find scary

Carina worked dilligently through her chores in the kitchen, her arms elbow deep into pot grease as she scrubbed furiously one way and then changed hands to repeat the motion the other way. She didn't mind these chores as the other girls seem to do, as it gave her some much needed venting opportunity. Novices are to behave themselves at ALL times! Novices have to curtsey to àny Sister at àny time, no matter whàt they are doing or what they are carrying! Novices are to kiss the flaming floor whenever even the slightest thought of a Sister brushes their lowely excuses for brains and send immediate thanks to the Creator that they are allowed to breath the same air as Aes Sedai do! Her hands moved in a blurr of motions on a pot that had been clean some time ago now. When a pressure on her shoulder allerted the girl to the presence of another person she looked up and met the stern face of the Mistress of the Kitchens, standing there in her impeccable white shirt, the ever present big spoon in her hands, tapping the side of her leg. Carina quickly schooled her face, that had taken on a murderous look in her ponderings, and stopped scrubbing.

"It seems to me this pot can not get any cleaner, child." The Mistress said. "And as this is the last one left, I declare your chores here over for the day. You may return to your studies now." She turned to walk away but then turned back and focussed Carina with her penetrating eyes, "A word of advice, child, while it is good that you vent your anger in chores as that is a positive use for that sort of energy, you may want to exercise on schooling your face even while doing so. Sisters do not take lightly on novices scowling, for whatever reason. No matter how just they may be." Carina dropped her eyes, recognising the meaning behind the scolding and her liking for this woman went up yet again. "Yes, Mistress" She replied, truelly greatfull and dropped a curtsey, before walking out of the kitchen.

She made her way to her room automatically, curtseying left and right to whatever Sister came in sight, using a quick step to prevent anyone from stopping her and giving her more chores. She'd had enough for today. All she wanted was to wash up and curl up on her bed with a good book and be left alone! Her roommate would probably be out making yet more friends, if she knew Selene. Honestly, but that girl made friends at the drop of a hat! Unwillingly though, a smile made it's way to Carina's face, thinking of this lighthearted, good natured young girl with whome she shared a room. She truelly liked her, even if she was a bit 'easy' at times. She would befriend a trolloc, if she could, and be absolutely certain there was 'some' good to be found in the foul creature.

Chuckling at that thought, she had arrived at her door and opened it and was in the room before the situation dawned on her. Then she stopped short, gawking at the girls sprawled out in her room, munching on goodies and whispering and giggling alternatively and looking all merry like. Confused for a moment, Carina stood there, covered in grease, her hair all wet from sweating over the cooking pots, looking absolutely a mess. Then memory came back. Of course! she thought, This is Selene's sleep over party night. Oh crap, of all nights... sighing at her rotten luck and bad timing, she murmurred a general hello to all the girls and gave Selene an appologetic smile.

"I've just returned from kitchen duty, as you can see, I'm afraid I don't much look like one ready for a slumber party."

She stood there, unknowing what to do and not about to wash in the presence of so many girls.

Selene scrambled up off the bed and gaped at Carina. "Oh Light, I'm so sorry!  I thought you were off washing already, I didn't know you were still doing chores."  She clapped her hands quickly, putting on her best Aes Sedai face, and mocked her very best Mistress of Novices voice. "Up girls, up.  We'll go out to the balcony and giggle about the trainees we can't see in the yard because it's dark."  She giggled and moved over to the door, pausing to give Carina a quick hug, grime and all, before she held open the door and shuffled all the novices out.

Once they were all in the hallway she leaned back in to talk to Carina. "I don't know if any more girls will show up while you're cleaning up, but if they do just tell them to go to the balcony at the end of the hall.  And don't worry, Carina! You'll have lots of fun tonight."  She gave the girl a sympathetic smile and then left her alone to have some privacy.

She hurried after the other girls, who were already on their way to the balcony and caught up with them.  "I love coming out onto this balcony at night, it's so quiet and peaceful and you can see the stables and the trainee barracks." She couldn't help the giggle that nearly always happened when she thought about the boys down there, one of them her brother, and maybe one of them training just to be her very own warder.

Carina stood totally overcome and in short order all the Novices were out the door and on their way to the balcony. Her mouth still hung open as the door closed after Selene who, grease smear on cheek and all, was happily hopping after the others, leaving Carina alone in their room. Shaking her head to clear it from the vail that had settled over her brain and blinking a few times, the young girl did something she hadn't done in ages.

She burst out laughing and couldn't stop till tears were rolling over her cheeks and her breath caught in chokes. Clasping her sides that started to hurt from the laughing, she wobbled over to the wash stand, took one look at her own grease smeared face and roared with laughter all over again. "Ah Selene" she breathed in between laugh fits "you total gem, you". Her spirits instantly up on cloud 5, she quickly set to getting the grease and food rests washed out of her skin and hair, donned a new, sparkling white novice dress and brushed her hair till it hung neatly down her back. Though still wet, she fastened one of her pins in it and ducked out the room and marched lightfooted to the balcony to join the girls and let them know the room was all ready for use again.

Stepping on the balcony, Carina flashed a big smile at her roommate and announced that all was clear for them to return if they wished.

Jerinia giggled a bit nervously as Selene proposed they head for the balcony. While one could see the barracks from there -- making being there a 'chore-able' offense to some Aes Sedai -- it was late at night, and only a few small shapes could be seen amongst the shadows in the Yards. The red headed Novice leaned over the rail, squinting, but couldn't make out who it was. Which made sense, as she had never been to the Yards before. Well, she had seen that Gaidan fellow once, but that didn't count.

- "There's one or two people down there, but i can barely see them from here..."

Shaking her head to keep her thoughts from derailing too much, she looked around at the others, smiling apologetically. Carina had returned as well, now with noticeably less grease stains on her. Chances were the people down there were Warders, which meant they wouldn't take notice of their group anyway. Which was a good thing, as the balcony was high up, and Novice dresses weren't divided as riding skirts were. Still, there was a light breeze out that night, and it felt a welcome change from being cooped up in the Tower for as long as she had been.

Approves of Selene's idea

One of the girls, Sarena, grabbed Mirandha and started chattering on about where she was from and who was in her family. Mirandha had to focus and try and keep up; Sarena tended to talk pretty quickly.

"<i>Sorry I get so excited sometimes, you just have to tell me to stop." "So where did you live before you came here?</i>"

"Not to worry," replied Mirandha attempting to make her voice louder. The more girls that showed up, the louder the volume rose. "I'm excited too! I've never been to a sleep over." She smiled then continued, "I lived with my family in Andor." She left it at that because not only did she not want to elaborate, but they were soon interrupted by the arrival of more girls.

Mirandha recognied Jerinia, and attempted to suppress a smile as they were introduced."Hi, Jerinia" she said, "I didn't know you were coming." She hopped her roommate wasn't offended that she hadn't mentioned it before coming over. It was just that Mirandha didn't know if it was something to be discussed so she erred on the side of caution in not mentioning it.

As their group started to dive into the food and drinks, Carina came back seemingly from a rather rough session of chores in the kitchen. Mirandha flushed in embarassment for the girl. She would hate walking into a room looking like a greasy mess! So, when it was suggested they walked out to the balcony, Mirandha was pretty much the first one out the door.

The girls gathered around and tried to make out the shapes over in the warder's yard. Well, everyone except Mirandha. "What's the point" she muttered to herself. While she was still new to her training, she was failing to see the point of having a warder. It seemed like something that would just get in her way. Mirandha always preferred to work solo.

Selene tucked her arm through Carina's and grinned brightly at the freshly-cleaned novice as she joined them.  She turned her gaze back to the figures poorly illuminated below them.  She giggled and loosened her hold on Carina as she set a hand to the balcony railing and leaned out to look.  She whistled, a loud piercing call that men might used to trivialize a woman, and then ducked down behind the balcony and watched as the other girls scrambled to not be seen as the one whistling.  Selene scrambled to her feet and ducked back into the hallway and pressed her back to the wall, out of sight to the few men down in the yards below.

As the girls followed her out of sight from the Yards below she broke into a huge grin. "This is fun!"  She laughed and then turned and sprinted back to her room and through the door, dropping to her bed with a fit of giggles.  She felt so alive and free, she was glad to have this time to get to know her fellow novices outside of classes and chores and all manner of horribly structured settings.  She hadn't felt this relaxed since she left home so long ago.

When the girls caught up to her and joined her in the room Selene poured herself a cup of blueberry tea and then handed the jug to the next girl.  "I want a warder after I'm raised to full sister.  A man to protect me and be there for me, no matter what."  She gave a wistful sigh, thinking about the husband and children she would never likely have unless you go Green, they sometimes marry and forced herself to think on happier thoughts.  "I wonder what it's like to have the bond with a warder.  What do you think it's like?"

She wondered how many more girls would be joining them tonight and leaned back against the wall as she listened to the other girls talk.

Jerinia's eyes widened as Selene whistled loudly at the men, and was only a heartbeat behind the giggling blonde in making her way out to places where she wouldn't be seen. Being, in this case, Selene's room again. Her face felt hot, and she didn't know whether it was from the excitement over what the Andoran Novice had just done or simply being a bit winded after running at full steam.

She turned down the offer for blueberry tea, pouring herself something colder instead, keeping an ear open for people chasing them in the dorm area. It was probably a bit silly to think the Warders would be jumping up two floors onto a balcony to chase Novices into the dorm areas, but that was simpy how excited she was about it.

"I wonder what it's like to have the bond with a warder.  What do you think it's like?"

- "Hmm... I don't know. From the times i've seen one, i'd say they're kind of like... bodyguards with benefits. I *think* one of them told me once they can feel what the other feels, but that was quite a while ago so i'm not too sure about that. Still, i'm still a bit nervous around boys so i'll just see where i end up."

A bit embarrassed, she gave a small giggle at that last addition. While she was a bit uncertain around boys -- especially those interested in her -- she knew that one day she'd have a Warder as well. Greens had several, she wondered how they were able to handle their Warders getting jealous at each other. Boys were like that sometimes.

Comparing Warders to boys in puberty

Carina had just moved next to Selene as the girl whistled and was out of the balcony before she knew what was going on. Having missed the giggling episode prior to her arrival, she curiously looked over the railing of the balcony to the ground below and jumped when several pairs of eyes peered up at her in return. She scooted down the hall and inside the room, knocking the door closed and standing there panting and catching her breath as Selene's giggles started to fill her ears. Her face went through a series of emotions before settling on a grin while shaking her head at the odacity of her roommate.

"One of these days, Selene, you're going to come back from Larindha Sedai's office with more than a red flush on your rear end."

Chuckling though, Carina grabbed the teapot and poored herself a cup turning towards a girl she had noticed looking a bit out of her element. It was obvious to Carina, though the rest didn't seem to notice, that this girl wasn't used to social gatherings though she did seem to make an effort here. Feeling an instant link with her, Carina moved over and smiled as she nodded her hello. "Well met, as you may have guessed from all the commotion, I'm Carina". Selene was talking about warders (again) and she grinned at the girl. "One of her favorite topics, which she doesn't get to discuss with me much since I'm not all that interested in the boys other than the skills they are learning. From the way she's going on you would think her to be a brainless flirting twit, but she's not really. She's got a depth to her that is well hidden behind that seemingly frivolous surface she puts out. How are you holding up under all the work they're loading on our shoulders? Selene called you Mirandha, I heard."

Falling silent then, Carina wondered where the heck she learned to be such a tattermouth... Turning her gaze on Selene, an amused eyebrow lifted up as recognition dawned on her.

"Larindhra Sedai loves me, she just doesn't know it yet."  She grinned again and popped a cookie into her mouth and swallowed it only half-chewed.  "Do you know I actually got yelled at for asking if there was anything I could help with?  She said I must have too much free time!  Whenever I'm working in the infirmary or the library I always learn so much from talking to the Aes Sedai, I can't help but want to do it again.  Besides, if I'm helping out than it keeps me from earning chores for idleness."  She laughed softly and chatted about warders and boys and bonds for a bit.

"Don't you accuse me of depth, Miss Carina."  Selene grinned as she jested with her roommate.  She'd only just caught what the girl had said about her not being a brainless flirting twit over the conversation about warders.  "You'll end up convincing Mirandha I read books all the time and may end up in the Browns."  Selene winked and then turned back to Jerinia and the others.  "I certainly hope that teach us about the bond before we have the opportunity to choose the wrong person because we didn't know what it would be like.  I wonder who my brother will end up bonded to."  Selene swung her legs off the edge of her cot and took a sip of her tea.

"Oh! Did I tell you girls what Larindhra Sedai said?" Selene's eyes were wide with surprise and she hopped off the bed and scurried to the door to check for Esther, Kiyi, or Deanne and then poked her head back in. "She's going to make me tutor Deanne."  She pulled a face, even more stricken and put upon than she felt, although not by much, and plopped back down onto the cot.  "How that girl thinks she'll ever make Aes Sedai when she won't put any effort into her studies is beyond me.  And if she even thinks about bonding my brother, why, I'll just strangle her!"  Selene made another face, this one even more distasteful than the last.  She tried to get along with everyone, she really did, but Deanne just worked her nerves like no one Selene had ever met.  She was even worse than Lasael, one of Selene's older sisters, who was nearly as empty headed and mean.

OOC- Sorry everyone for my absence, I will try to catch up :)

IC:  As Sarena moved into the room with Mirandha The girl on the bed introduced herself as Jerinia, Sarena gave her a warm smile and a friendly hello. She then pulled Mirandha to a clear spot and continued chatting only stopping to get themselves a cup of blueberry tea, which was beautifully refreshing after the day she had.

Sarena was about to ask Mirandha another question about Andor, when a girl came in the room dripping from head to toe with grease and soap. At the same moment Selene and Jerinia stopped talking and stared at the girl who had just entered. Selene jumped up and apologised to the girl who had introduced herself as Carina. Selene then told them all that they would be going out to the balcony to spy on the trainee warders in the yards. Sarena giggled at the thought of watching the young men working delicate forms in the dark had a sort of poetic romance about it.

As they were all trying to make out the shapes in the training yard, Sarena heard Mirandha mutter "Whats the point". She turned away from the balcony edge and linked her arm in Mirandha's and steered her toward a less crowded spot and asked "Wouldn't it be wonderful to have someone that you could share all your adventures with, as well as being able to help out if you got into a tight spot. I'd think it would be rather exciting even though I don't really need a man to protect me, What do you think?

Sarena and Mirandha watched as Selene lent over the balcony railing and let out a loud whistle, the girls glanced at each other horrified and joined the gaggle of girls dashing back to Selene's room. After they got inside then broke out into fits of quiet giggling which got a bit louder when Carina came dashing in after being left behind on the balcony. They all settled down after a bit.

Sarena had braided Mirandha's hair and had hers done by Selene, which was tied up beautifully with a bright green ribbon. They all chatted about what they were studying and who their mentors were and mostly what ajah they were planning to join. Most of the girls said that they wanted to be in the green ajah but there were ones that had their heart set on joining the blues or greys. It was really interesting for Sarena to listen to all of them list out their pros and cons of joining particular ajahs, it helped Sarena try and make her mind up. On one hand there were the Greens who had warders and went out into the wide world exploring and battling darkfriends and then there were the Reds who didnt ever get a warder and they hunted men who could channel which also sounded exciting but Sarena couldnt imagine a life however long it would be with out a man to share it with.

Maybe it was her upbringing, her mother had taught her and her sisters young about how to lure a husband and keep him in control....it sounded funny to Mirandha as she explained the lessons her mother used to teach her, maybe Andorians wern't like that. It was then that she decided that she would show Mirandha how wonderful life could possibly be having a man to share it with, and even give her some of the secret lessons her mother had given her when she came of age.......

OOC: Does anyone want to continue this thread? Esther can still come in and spoil all the fun, if you guys want.

Post OOC here, and I'll wipe them once it's been decided which way you want to go.

OOC: Puts head around door like Jonny from the Shining and says "I'm Heeeeeyaaaaa!"

Deanne was striding down the corridor towards her room after yet another telling off from that stupid cow, Larindhra. The shame of being forced to have extra lessons, just because she wasn't interested in the stupid classes they were forced to participate in. Who cares about who conquered who a hundred years before and why in the Light do I have to learn about the boundaries and names of the countries that existed before I was even born! She was about to turn the corner when she heard a piercing whistle followed by muffled giggling and chatter.

She stopped still and listened intently. She knew it wasn't free day yet and although this was the novice quarters she'd never heard so much giggling as what was going on now. Tiptoeing forward slowly she heard a door open and shut as she turned the corner. The corridor was empty but the giggling and chatter was getting louder though she couldn't make out what was being said. Moving forward a little quicker now she stopped to listen at each door she came across and eventually found the room that was emitting the noise.

They were having a party, without her! They'd not even invited her! Drawing herself up she opened the door and stormed in.

"Oh thank you very much! Fine. Have a party without me, see if I care! I don't need you and your measly giggling parties anyway!" She stood legs apart, hands on hips and braids swinging wildly as she turned her head to glare at everyone in the room.

OOC: OMG *dives*

IC:

Jerinia's giggling cut off as she saw an angry Deanne standing in the doorway. She gave the fellow Novice a puzzled look before turning to face Selene again. She knew the girl had asked her to invite Deanne, but she had said there was a chance she wouldn't because of some penance or another she had been sent on... Hadn't she?

- "Umm... I said i couldn't pass her an invite when you asked me to, right? Or was that might not?"

Running a hand through her hair, she thought about what she had said at the time. Raking Aes Sedai patterns with dead leaves on the Tower grounds had gotten her so worn out she had gone straight to bed, but she did remember to tell Selene about not being able to pass on the invitation... did she? Tired as she was, most of her memories of what happened after she was done were all hazy, the only things that stood out still were her arms and back hurting as if she had trained with the Warders, and the impact of her face on the frame of the bed after she had misjudged letting herself fall on it. Fortunately her pillow absorbed at least some of the impact, though it had taken her a while to fall asleep that night.

Jerinia

Umm... Did you...?

OOC: at work too - waiting to hear if people want Esther to be the one who gets them in trouble with the MoN.

Bear in mind that she'll have to do 4 posts, if you want that.
