Just to make this a day of announcements I wanted to let you all know about a few other things that have been in the works.

First, the questions over the Introduction thread with the MoT. The decision is that the post is required and you will be assigned your weapon score once it is complete. I am sorry for any confusion that was caused.

Nextly..we are instituting a new Tower Guard Structure.

Each Company has 500 men.  Underneath a company are 5 banners, all 5 are overseen by the Captain of the Guard and the Second of the Guard.  Each of the banners are run by Lieutenants.

The company insignia's/names are as follows with reasons and designated jobs with in the Tower Guard Structure:

Bear - slow and powerful - North Wall

Wolves - working together - South Wall

Falcons - quick - East Wall

Lions - strong individuals - Special Missions

Snakes - quick to stike, cunning and crafty - West Wall

All PCs will fall into the Lions Company.  We will have two banners in which to assign PCs.  This allows the PCs freedom to go on special assignments.  They will fill in on the wall in their off mission time so they can leave when necessary with out disrupting the wall protection schedules.

Since we want to avoid associating the banners with colors, because it could be taken as association with the Ajahs we will identify each banner with a pin. For example, a Lion pin with a square behind it for 1 company, a circle for another and so on. (circle, square, triangle, diamond, bar)

Lion Company

Banner 1 : C Banner (Circle)

Banner2: T Banner (Triangle)

Banner3: S Banner (Square)

Banner4: D Banner (Diamond)

Banner 5: B Banner (Bar)

All PC’s would be assigned to Banner’s one and two. For example they would be

Thera Trakelyn Lion Company Banner C.

Lion Company Captain of the Guard: Mia Airini

Lion Company Second of the Guard: Jaden Hesseltoff

Lion Company Banner C Lieutenant : Mathwin Ereanor

Lion Company Banner T Lieutenant: Alexander Machanro

Ah, so we're getting a rank structure now eh? :P

Still, one thing to ask. Would this Banner thing only apply to TGs and Trainees? I can't see (most) Warders as being in the Yards often enough to be a part of a command structure, given that they generally leave and return with their Aes Sedai.

Warders are only part of the structure in a round about sort of way.  You are assigned a company at trainee level and you retain that through out your stay here in the yards.  Since you remain a TG for at least 2 WS before you can become a warder you will have been an active TG and thus an honorary part of the company still and can participate in company events as part of said company you were part of formerly.  However they do not report to the command structure.

Eqwina can correct me but that I believe is the correct information.

for how little this system is actualy used outside just exsisting as a reference point, i do not comprehend at all why the staff feel they need to use time over and over again to rewrite it all the time. (cause it feel like its changed every few months)

ata they will last for as long as they work.  This has been the structure of the TG for a very long time and it has taken a very long time for it to be established, now with a small number of ppl it's far eaier to implement it than in the grand scale it has.

They didn't work last time do you see anyone doing their company?  no, it didn't work but it is still the structure of the tg, t his is the first time it has purpose and reason and hopefully will stick around.

Change is good when it's to refresh things...

yeah i discussed it with eqw as i was made aware it had come out a little wrong (hence also edited msg sligthly)

but thats just my exact point, it feels like it has been renamed and resized without much point to it ..well i lost count of times...the last couple years, and with how little its used, i just do not understand why?

And i hear you on making it better, but honestly i do not see how it differs any drasticaly from the stuff from before. So this is not negative about this system in itself, but rather that it feels like the warders constantly have a new write up of the structure to create army structure rp...but nothing major about the essence of them change, and it dont feel like anything change in ref to rp either

the write up is good, explanations good etc, its just i dont see where the major revolutionary difference is thats going to make an impact..so why should this work any better to inspire to make army RPs then the last few write ups did?

bacause their is structure, and a new RP coordinator who actually wants to make it work from the post we just saw Tal make.

Before it was oh I suppose I'll do it and yet when we tried no one took anyone up on the offer thus flopping.  You need to have enthusssium from both the doer and the doees.  We had it from the doers but the doees didn't follow...

This time with the active posters we've got maybe it'll work.  I'm not saying it will and until it gets right it's bound to change again.  Since you aren't using it before it really doesn't affect you now?  And if you still don't use it it won't affect you.  I could understand the complaints if you actually used it and we made a change, but you didn't so why is there a complaint??

Well, I can see some people might have concerns about this structure not being that big of a deal still, since most of us are probably more interested in the Warder side of things, but I intend to be involved and participate as much as I can in the Tower Guard side, at least certainly for as long as possible.  It's a side of TV and the White Tower that's often ignored or underplayed on rp sites, and I think that's a shame.  I already have some good ideas for rps.

I think we have something as cool as a renaissance/fantasy version of The Shield (or insert your favorite cop show) to work with.  I say we make the best of this Tower Guard thing ^_^, even without the awesomeness of Michael Chicklis.

We've tried to make it work, but most times we've started it up, people kind of go inactive or else some other thing happens that puts a kink in our plans. I like trying to keep trying new ways to start it up again, because it is a really good idea and can make for some interesting rps if enough people are involved. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

This particular group of trainees that are about to become Tower Guards have done a whole lot of posts that have nothing at all to do with WS, just because we like RP.  Talavin is one of them, and since he's now one of the RP coordinators, it makes sense wanting to have a general guideline for all of us roleplaying to have as reference.  Ata's been here for years and seen lots of versions of this.  I've been here two months and this is the first time I've even seen a mention of what we should do with TGs who aren't yet even able to be warders, much less ones that don't have any clear plans for bonding yet.

I don't know how long it will be actively used, and the next time there's a group of trainees who are almost TGs it will probably be mentioned again, possibly with tweaks that are done in the hopes of making it better each time.  Any effort made by the staff to make RP more interesting, or to give another direction to take in a thread, is a good step and not a waste of time.  Some things work and some things don't, brilliant ideas can fall flat without the motivation to utilize it.  But there's no harm in giving something a try.

Thanks so much Quisalas, you summed up exactly what I had been trying to find the words for.

I know that for those of us that have been around for years *raises her hand* the constant changes can be frustrating, but they only happen in hopes of making the Division better. I ask that you bear with us and give these new systems a try and as always if it doesn't work we will try again.Just like the energizer bunny we keep going and going 8) *laughs at her own lameness* ;)

Remember:we are open to hearing your ideas and comments. You can email me anytime Warder.Staff@gmail.com or just send me a PM. That goes the same for anyone on the Staff. :D

  • 3 weeks later...

Alright so who is assigning us to the different squads?  Perivar will likely be bonded soon though it would still be nice to know where he is/was assigned.  It might come in handy in the event that his Aes Sedai is busy in the Tower where he has some free time to play with others.

You technicaly should have already been assigned to a group as a trainee... I will divide the active ppl into two divs and let eqwina go through and say yay or nay to that.
