No i think Nynaeve is a complete POS towards everyone shes with for nearly the entire series. Shes abusive mentally and physically to every companion including her husband. she's not selfish but neither is she selfless. Her motives are pure, but she basically humble brags every action with backhanded comments. 

She's also smart, generous, and extremely loyal. If I had to pick a friend among all of the main protagonists, I'd pick Nynaeve. Yes, I might have to deal with her angry tirades and lectures. But I know that I could count on her 100% when the chips are down.
