Jennifer Lopez is producing a small-screen version of her hit 2003 romantic comedy “Maid In Manhattan” to star somebody else.

 

Chad Hodge (the 2004 ABC Family TV-movie "I Want To Marry Ryan Banks," Fox's "Tru Calling," The CW's "Runaway") is scripting the pilot for ABC.

 

Like the movie, the series will focus on a Bronx-dwelling Latina who tidies up a fancy Manhattan hotel.

 

Lopez previously produced the drama "South Beach," which lasted eight episodes on UPN.

 

 

While the movie was a nice little fairy taily type of thing, fun to watch at least once, I can't see much coming of a series made out of it.  If I see the preview for it and it interests me, I'll take a look see at an ep or 2, but if it sucks then I'll drop it like a bad habit.
