The spar was going quite well, all things considered. Though she had been a bit uneasy about potential accidents in the beginning (which earned her a hit on the arm) she settled into sparring with live weapons more and more, lessening the hesitation in her attacks almost to what it had been had she used wooden training weapons. She was still more on guard than she'd be in a spar with, say, Kynwric, who could dodge an unintentionally threatening attack anyway, but Jasine had no such built-in safety as the two of them were around equal levels of skill.

Rather than take a hit and move in from there, Jasine seemed to focus more on thrusts these days, and it was starting to become incrasingly harder for her to keep him at a distance. She really needed something for closer range as well, she realised, recognising the potential weakness in her preferred combat tactic. Though she didn't have the time to analyse it further -- not in mid-battle anyway -- she was nevertheless trying to gather as much information about her opponent as possible, and in that light comparing it to the older information she had on him ended up being pretty much inevitable.

Another series of thrusts came, and while Jasine performed The Falcon Stoops, she tried her hand at The Grapevine Twines, attempting to use her opponents own forward momentum against him. Though successful in that it had sent Jasine's sword falling on the ground, she had felt a jolt of pain in her arm, and when she looked she noticed a dark stain getting larger on her sleeve. It seemed that she had grazed the blade while peforming the form, she'd pay a visit to the Infirmary to have it looked at. Guess she wasn't completely used to sparring with live weapons just yet...
