My Guide on how to get your OH to leave you alone when you're working.

Featured Replies

Well, I say working. I'm on here so i cant be doing that much work.

Anyway, my partner is not a book-lover. He can't see the point in reading about something that never happened, isnt set in this world and is highly unlikely to affect every day life now or in the future.

Last night when we were getting ready for bed, my OH (other half) looked at my book on the bedside and said

"Theres a weird guy at work reads the Robert Jordan books." (we work together)

I said "Why is he weird?"

He said "Because he takes all the books to work. He goes to the canteen and lays them all out around him, takes an 8-table to himself, and reads."

Anyway, we had a little discussion about this, which resulted in OH being vaguely alarmed that I spend a significant amount of time on the forums. I think he's concerned I'm going to turn into a trekkie or some such.

Then, just now he came over to my desk and was bothering me whilst I am working (take 'working' with a pinch of salt  ;)). He saw I was on here and said

"You could go downstairs and talk to your freaky friend."

I said "What freaky friend?"

He said "The one who reads the books." Then to wind me up (I've been stuck on book 10 for months) said "He's on book 12."

I said "Book 12 isnt published yet."

He said "Well, he's on book 12. He said it's not published til next year but he's got it now."

I said "Well, unless he's Brandon Sanderson, I find that highly unlikely. And if he IS Brandon Sanderson, can you ask him who killed Asmodean next time you see him?"

... He's gone back to his desk now...  :D
