Have any of you seen this movie?

I'm really usually not into this stuff, but it's really really well made and incredibly eye opening.

I 'aven't!

It's very effective at getting across its message and way of thinking. However, it starts to get rather jarring that there isn't any evidence or outside confirmation to the many, many claims it makes over the course of its two hours.

 

[Paraphrased from memory] "Afghanistan used to produce 40% of the world's heroin supply. Then the Taliban took over and managed to wipe out most of the crops. The people making all the money off the heroin trade painted the Taliban as terrorists and the US went in and fought them out. Now, Afghanistan produces 80% of the world's heroin supply."

 

[Paraphrased from memory] "There is no Al Quaida. It was the name of the database the CIA used to track middle eastern leaders who wouldn't buy into the corrupt American debt-based financial system. But any time the U.S. government needs to perform some aggressive campaign to maximize profits in an area of Muslims... 'Hey, it's Al Quaida, we're fighting terrorists.'"

 

No links to independent websites confirming numbers, no references to documents indicating the links between things, just two hours of statements sometimes subtly and sometimes obviously designed to say that obscenely rich people who tug at entire countries' and governments' strings are destroying smaller countries and peoples in order to increase profits, while hiding everything from the 'average' person's eyes so they can't see it.
