IC: It was morning and Phinn still slept. She turned over in her sleep and pulled the blanket off of her face. The sun hit her eyes and made her squint unconsciously.  A moment later she moaned and pulled the pillow over her head. Phinn was not know for her love of mornings. When she was a little girl she Was always the last out of bed and doing her chores.

 

A little while later Phinn sat up in her bed and rubbed her eyes and yawned. It was a new day… one more day of…

 

Wait!! No Today was not just any other day….it was the day she would enlist in the Tower Guard of the White Tower. That thought made Phinn bounce out of bed. As she quickly washed and scrubbed her teeth she threw on her pants and shirt. Running down stairs as she tied up the front of her shirt and got a fast breakfast. After Breakfast Phinn packed up her things and left the Inn.

 

About thirty minutes later Phinn was walking up to the gates of the tower. She approached the Guard post and introduce herself.

 

“….I am looking to talk to the person in charge or recruitment. Can you direct me to them or put me in contact with the right person?”

Kyn was leaning against the guardhouse wall when the young woman walked up through the gates. He listened as she asked about the whereabouts of Mistress Thera. He intervened before the young Guardsman can answer, wanting to give the lass a bit of a test before showing her to the Mistress of Trainees. "Recruitment? We don't recruit." He could see the change in her demeanor immediately and decided to let it drop there, see if she had the persistence to continue to seek what she was after.

OOC: Sorr this was long in coming...busy with RL. :P

 

IC: "Recruitment? We don't recruit."

 

What?? They don’t recruit? The look in Phinn’s eyes was one of suspicion and a little bit of confusion. She looked the man over letting her eyes wander up and down his stance and form. Was he one to joke… or was he testing her? She decided he was testing her so she relaxed her look and stance. She smiled and said…

 

“Well I was informed by a sister of the tower and her warders that the Tower Guard will at least look at and test a person who wants to join the guard. Are the one to do the testing? Or will you take me to the right person?”

"Aye, now that we will do. But we don't ever Recruit, if a person wants to be tested and join the Tower Guard then they can. However, we never seek them out, it is too dangerous a profession to have those who are not fully committed to it." He smiled and pushed himself off the wall. "I can take you to the Mistress of Trainees, she can put your name in the book and assign you a billet. As far as the test... we'll see how you do with Thera Gaidin."

IC: Phinn grinned and her excitement returned.

 

"thank you! I do indeed want to be tested or whatever it is you do here."

 

The guard lead her towards the training grounds. As they walked Phinn realised that She did not know this man's name. She turned to him and asked...

 

"May I ask your name?"

Kyn smiled. "I am Kynwric Gaidin, Warder to Loraine Sedai of the Green." He led the latest trainee to the office of the Mistress of Trainees, knocking on the door as he stood in the open doorway. "Thera, this lass says she wants to be tested and train to be a Tower Guard." He ushered Phinn into the office. He left her there with Thera with the following. "I'll be in the yard, when she's ready."

OOC: Are you going to let her know this thread is here?

OOC: Yes, but I believe she is LOA for a couple days at the moment. I've sent her a PM.

*poke*  Not to pressure..I guess she is on LOA for the holidays at the moment?

Indeed it did get lost in the shuffle. I usually look for threads addressed to Thera, unless I have been nudged about them before hand ;D I will get to ya today :D

Thera was leaned back in her chair with her eyes closed and a content smile on her face. Her life was falling back into its steady old routine and she couldn’t be happier. The months of caios and strife seemed to be well and truly behind her. For the first time in many months she didn’t shudder when a knock sounded at her door.

 

"Thera, this lass says she wants to be tested and train to be a Tower Guard. I’ll be in the yard, when she’s ready.”

 

Meeting the Gaidin’s eyes she smiled at Kynwric before he walked out the door. So he’d taken an interest in this one?

 

“Well girl, come in and tell me about yourself.”

IC: Phinn grinned at the woman behind the desk. Thera..the one who would decide if she could stay and train. It made Phinn a little nervous..but not enough to make her loss her wits.

 

“My name is Phinn and I have just come down from Kandor.” No need to let her know here she actually came from, she was trying to hide after all.”I came here because I have heard from the merchant guards I worked with that the best training can be found here. May I ask a question? How should I address you..Sir? Mame? I don't want to be rude and address you incorrectly.”

IC: Thera laughed and shook her head. “Mistress Thera or simply Thera will be fine. There is no need for ma’am and certainly no need for sir”
