Rasheta was stopped while walking down the Green halls by another Green sister, who spoke quickly in a cool voice, “Ah sister there you are.”  Rasheta was either pitied by the other Greens or looked at as an oddity many sisters had lost warders and none had moped around like she was doing. She ignored most of the talk, she knew at some point she would either find another Warder or the Captain General would order her to it. Either way she was content to remain without one for the moment. The sister speaking pulled her back to the present. "Jaydena has a new accepted and she wishes you to do the showing."

Rasheta blinked in surprise, she had heard there had been another raising today however, she did not know the girl had gone Green Ajah. Surely Loraine or the other Sitter would be better choices then she was. She wondered what Jaydena was doing, was she trying to mold her to be sitter one day? That thought was not pleasant; much as Rasheta felt as though life outside the tower was not for her she didn't like being cooped up in the tower either. She was simply standing and her sister gave her a push. "You know Jaydena does not like to be kept waiting." Rasheta sighed deeply and twisted toward the Captain-General's office the sister following telling her where the new girls accepted room would be. Rasheta waved her away and took a deep breath before knocking and being allowed entrance to the Captain Generals office.

She nodded to Jaydena and her eyes found the new girl quickly, she nodded to her and said, "If you would follow me I am to show you around." She nodded again to Jaydena, before herding the newest Aes Sedai from the room and shutting the door after her. She walked down the halls toward the room and expected the girl to follow her. They came to the room and she said coolly.

"this will be your room while you are still training." She paused and added, "The training will begin in the morning you will, in the eyes of the rest of the tower, be Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah within the Green Ajah you will be only accepted. You will tell no one outside the Ajah about your experiences beginning tomorrow." She paused and looked the woman in front of her over, she had thought her a girl but then again she thought of everyone not Aes Sedai as girls. She shouldn't think that way of newly raised it hadn't been that long ago that she was in the same place as the woman in front of her. She asked softening her voice. "Do you have any questions before I begin your tour of the Ajah halls? If it is within my power to answer I will."

OOC: Sorry this took me so long. :P

IC: Standing there facing the Captain after just being rejected was the hardest thing Veria had to endure. When would this woman Jaydena said would mentor her get there. Great… not only was she being rejected after all the blood, tears, hardships she had to go through to get to her status as Aes Sedai… now she was seen as not good enough for a mentor who showed up on time. It was struggle for her to keep her face straight and not fidget. The minutes until she heard the knock was like an eternity. Thank the light!!

A depressed looking woman, a sister Veria assumed by the dress and looks of her, came walking in after a “come in” from the Captain General. Veria looked at the woman and decided that yes… the Captain General decided she was not worthy and gave her a mediocre sister to work and train with. Her training was doomed….unless she made sure she worked hard. She was not going to let this “Mentor” bring her down and make her fail.

After Jaydena and Rasheta exchanged words they both looked at her. Jaydena spoke first…

“Listening, Doing as instructed and hard work will get you through your training. Rasheta Sedai is capable and a sister of good standing. You will learn well from her.”

With that The Captain General waves them out. Veria fell in behind Rasheta and followed her out of the room.  Rasheta turned immediately to in the direction of the inner halls of the Ajah’s domain. Veria quickened her step and walked beside the sister. They walked in silence until Rasheta stopped in front of a door. Rasheta opened the door and stepped in.

“"This will be your room while you are still training." She paused and added, "The training will begin in the morning you will, in the eyes of the rest of the tower, be Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah within the Green Ajah you will be only accepted. You will tell no one outside the Ajah about your experiences beginning tomorrow."

Veria nodded and understood what the woman said.

"Do you have any questions before I begin your tour of the Ajah halls? If it is within my power to answer I will."

Questions? HA! Veria had so many it would take until the next breaking to answer them all. Veria shook her head no and followed the sister out of her room.

Zeveria…..

Dazed and Confused….

Rasheta watched Zeveria for a long moment measureing her before she spoke slowly. "Let us go then and see the rest of the Green Halls." Rashet led Zeveria down the halls till she stopped in front of the Green Ajah's Vault she remembered the words Jaydena had used when she had shown Rasheta around and so Rasheta used the same words as she opened the door to show Zeveria. "This is the Green Ajah Vault, probably one of the most sacred areas of our Ajah."

She led the way into the main sunken seating area, around the deep seated couchs were glass walls. Inside the walls were cubbys, inside each cubby was a portrait of the deceased or missing battle sister and a few of her prized posessions, including pictures of her gaidin. Leading back into the hallways were large portraits of Sisters. Turning she spoke, "The Vault is a place were we come in contemplation of those we have lost in this battle against the Shadow. Sisters of the Battle Ajah rarely die in their sleep. We will all die and if we are lucky we will do so fighting for the greater good such as these women did. When we die we earn a place within the Vault." She nodded respectfully and led the way out of the room and to the next area. Into the large room with it's high ceilings.

"This is the Hall of Swords Zeveria. your second petition will take place here. We hold ajah meetings here and have large gatherings in this Hall." She led the way out of the domed from and toward the first Sisters door. Knocking on it she waited for the woman to open it. When she had she said, "This is Zeveria, she is not yet Green but she is sealed to us." Stepping back she waited for the two to converse...

Loraine hummed as she stirred her tea. Humming? It was strange to feel so light-hearted in the face of such difficult days. Especially after witnessing what she'd just witnessed. A sigh broke the even hum of the tune in her head and she set the cup aside. Watching someone be told that nothing they'd worked for would be coming true was heartbreaking. Even knowing it was for the best, that the Green would be stronger for this trial and the Ajah would benefit from that strength did little to make it easier to watch.

She was pulled from her thoughts by the knock on the door. This was usually her favorite part of this horrible day. She nearly smiled as she rose and moved towards the door. Nearly.

She opened the door, her eyes meeting Rasheta's first before falling on the newest Green. "This is Zeveria, she is not yet Green but she is sealed to us."

Loraine let her training take over as she met the girl's eyes. Reading expressions, body language and the barely restrained movement in her limbs was ingrained in her. Being noble and growing up in Cairhien had been enough to see to that. "It is a pleasure to welcome a new Sister to our Halls. I am Loraine." She softened her expression a bit. "I'd imagine today has been a rough one for you. If I promise that they get better, will you also accept my promise that they will get much worse, as well?"

IC: "I'd imagine today has been a rough one for you. If I promise that they get better, will you also accept my promise that they will get much worse, as well?"

Veria tried to smile but her thin lips looked more like more like a crooked rat’s tail. She curtsied slightly to the sister and answered her…

“Yes Aes Sedai I will take you promise. Thank you. It is good to meet you as well Loraine Sedai. May I beg your pardon and ask a question? Do you have any advice for me?”

Loraine stopped a moment, looking the new Aes Sedai over a moment before answering. "The best advice anyone ever gave me when I was in your shoes was to remember that there's not a sister in this Ajah who has not stood where you are standing. They've all had to find their way, just as you will. My advice, in keeping with that, is to find your purpose, figure out the real reason why you're here, in this Ajah. Then be prepared for that reason to be destroyed and rebuilt a hundred times before your visage hangs in the Vault." She paused again, her lips twitching. "For these days will be a pleasant memory to what's coming, Zeveria. We stand ready, isn't only a reference to the Last Battle, after all. Stop by somtime and we'll discuss it over tea."

IC: So each Sister went through this? That was good to know. So she was not the only one…that made Veria feel so much better. The situation was still not entirely fair… but was life fair. No. At least with that knowledge that she was not the only one she could accept and work through this step of her life in the tower. Returning her attention back to Loraine Sedai…

Veria curtsied and said..

“Yes Aes Sedai. I would like that very much. Thank you for your insight.”

Turning to Rasheta, Veria waited for where they would go next.

Rasheta watched Loraine and Zeveria interact, Loraine had not been in the Tower when Rasheta was raised some fourty years previous. She knew the other sister by reputation and some interaction but she hadn't really had a chance to observe the other woman much. Rasheta found that Loraine appeared to be like all the other sisters hoping the Accepted did well but wanting to push them, although Loraine seemed a little nicer somehow. Rasheta didn't comment on another however, she was here only to take the new Accepted around the Green Halls. She waited a moment after the door closed in case Zeveria had anything she wanted to ask before moving on to the next door and knocking. When it was opened she nodded to the sister and then moved a little so they could see the new Accepted and she said.

"This is Zeveria, she is not yet Green but she is sealed to us."

Brid glanced around her cold sparce rooms and wondered when the girl would get here. She wouldn't even be in the rooms except for Jaydena had commanded it and having been Ajah Head herself, she knew you didn't mess with your Captain General. She hobbled over to the mirror and hooked her long white hair up onto her head. It wouldn't be long before she died and returned to the Creater, and it would be about blasted time. She had lived a life filled with Battles and had given all for her Ajah and the Tower and now all she wanted to do was die on the Battle Field. Of course Jaydena wouldn't allow that, the woman kept a close on her and was determined that she would die peacefully in her bed, but she had news for the woman. She had plans to sneak away and lose herself in the Borderlands and it wouldn't be long before she escaped and made good on those plans.

No Green deserved to die in a bed, Light what was the woman thinking, in a bed of all things. She wanted to go down with as many Trollocs as she could take, screaming in the face of death, and covered in their foul blood. Brid would leave the world a better place if she did that, and a few Trollocs less. She grinned cynically, not that there wasn't an overabundance of the creatures but a few less was always positive. Rubbing at her wooden leg she walked over to the door when a knock sounded at it. About time, she thought, these young Aes Sedai have no concept of doing things quickly, in my day we got these girls out on the training field in a few minutes, this whole tour thing was a waste of time, weaves is what saved your life on the Battle field, that and a well trained horse, sharp weapon, and a quick warder.[/i] She opened the door with a jerk and glared at the girl on the other side of it, Rasheta Sedai, that new girl was standing there with their newest Green.

"This is Zeveria, she is not yet Green but she is sealed to us." Brid flicked a hand at Rasheta and spoke, "I know what she is child, I was doing this long before your Mom was laying down for your Daddy." Rasheta glanced at her and Brid almost cackled at the woman's expression. "Let's get this over with. Your a new Green, you will die and hopefully on the battlefield, unlike me, who has to die in her bed thanks to Jaydena, you want warders and that's why your becoming a Green. Don't we all, well get over it girl, warders are not all their cracked up to be, stay away. You want to fight and kill Trollocs, blah, blah, I have heard it all in my time. Just fight the best you can, stay true to what this ajah means, and don't rely only on your Sisters or your Warders. You are the only one who can make sure you live until you have White in your hair like me. A sword that is sharp and years of training, practice in Battle weaves until your eyes bleed and you may survive your first Battle. Do you have any questions, she stood tall and looked down her nose at the two of them.

IC: Veria moved over to the next door with Rasheta and waited for the next sister to answer. What came was totally unexpected.

A white haired old sister opened her door and scowled at them. The word that came flooding out of her mouth where eyebrow raising… and blunter than a dull pocket knife. To say the least Veria was a bit shocked and amused though she tried to hide it. Veria thought she could get on well with this white haired old crone. Failing at hiding her humor Veria smiled genuinely and gave a small curtsy.

“Thank you for your words Aes Sedai. You are correct in saying that I wish to have warders…I shall come to you for advice on that if that is alright with you. May we have tea sometime and discuss any other advice or words of wisdom you’d share with me? I would enjoy it greatly to hear about your experiences in life”

Brid squinted at the girl through her good eye and waited for her to reply. Light these girls needed to get some kind of idea what respect for your elders meant. Mothers milk she was saving the world before this girls Mama kissed her Dad behind the treehouse. She gazed at the girl and almost growled when she saw amusement spread across her face. Is this chit laughing at me, I swear I will show her what battle weaves means, it will look like an accident too, she mused. Her thoughts wandered off in this direction and it wasn't long before she was imagining slaying Trollocs on the battle field and sticking bloody heads up on pikes for all to see. Those thoughts were interrupted when the light glinted off something and hit her in her good eye. She almost fell backwards, ready to attack, when she realized it was the girl smiling at her, smiling at me, does she dare?

Brid was about to take her down a knotch or two for smiling in her presence when she wanted to be anywhere but here. Light she would rather be cleaning pots in the kitchen than going through another one of these tours. “Thank you for your words Aes Sedai. You are correct in saying that I wish to have warders…I shall come to you for advice on that if that is alright with you. May we have tea sometime and discuss any other advice or words of wisdom you’d share with me? I would enjoy it greatly to hear about your experiences in life.” Brid nodded once and then spoke, "Well girl, I can't say that I know much about Warders these days, it's been so long since I had one that I don't remember what it was like. I do remember the pain of losing one and the pain of losing a second, and a third. I remember how it felt like a part of me was ripped away and how that part has never come back, but I will advice you and hope that you have better luck that me. Come to me when you have time, but you will be kept fairly busy for some time. Now off with you." She smiled with the corner of one mouth and then shut the door with a thump, this one was fiesty to be sure, and would be fine. She also knew how to lure the Greens to her, better to catch flies with sugar they say...

IC: The door to Brid's rooms thumped shut as she closed them with a "Come again soon but not to soon" salutation. Veria grinned inspit of herself. That one would be interesting to be sure.

Turning to Rasheta she asked...

"are there more to see?"

Rasheta watched as Zeveria conducted herself with the other Greens, again she had to remember her own walk through the halls. Things never changed although Rasheta's only feelings durning this time was her determination to become a Green. She knew she showed little emotion even then and she showed even less since her warders death. She smiled when Zeveria asked if there was anymore.

"There is one more for you to meet child come." She walked to the last door and knocked waiting for it to open.

"This is Zeveria she isn't a Green yet but she is sealed to us."

Jaydena let her emerald eyes linger in the portrait of Seiaman that stood next to the door in the bookcase as she cleaned her room for the girl who was about to visit her. The woman in the picture had been her friend first and later her lover. They had been as close as could be until Seia betrayed her for Sirayn. She really should take the portrait down but they had had many good times before those things happened. She sighed, it had been bound to happen, Sirayn was smaller than her and quite lovely. There had been something appealing about her tough attitude. Sometimes a woman needed cuddling and other times she needed a tough slap, and Sirayn was good at that. She shook her head and pushed the thoughts from her mind, someday she would move the portrait she had painted of her lover, but today was not that day. Walking over to the couch she plumped the hunter green pillows with their embroidered Aes Sedai symbols and refolded the throw with it's matching design. Her mentee from long ago had made the throw and she kept a keeping on it to protect it. Though Dae was long gone, disappeared into the Borderlands, and who knew if they would ever hear from her again. So many of her mentees were gone, they hadn't made it to the testing, or they had died in the years they had been Greens and most of her mentees went Green. Jade embraced the source as she walked toward her bookcases, she pushed the window open with one weave and then cleared the dust off her prized books, carved crystals, and weapons. Over the years, many had given her the crystals, though these days, no one knew of her love of them and everyone that did was either dead or gone. She picked up one from so many years ago, a rose that had been tinted green and red. Jared had given it to her when he had been her warder, his death hadn't been that long ago and it was hard to think about.

She looked up as the knock sounded on her door. With a deep sigh she looked around her quarters one more time. As the Ajah Head and a Sitter she was afforded one of the largest quarters in the Hall of the Greens. One great perk of the room was it's secret entrances that led into the gardens. The main room consisted of a living area, kitchen, small dining area, and office section. To the back of the rooms were several doors, one led to a common bathroom and then it contained four rooms for her warders. The rooms weren't huge but they were large enough for them to have some space. In between the doors was her own room with it's private bath. Compared to the farmhouse she had grown up in, these quarters were a palace. She smiled and then opened the door, her shawls fringe dangling from her arms as she reached for it. "This is Zeveria she isn't a Green yet but she is sealed to us." Jade nodded at the girl she had just turned down and then smiled, "Hello Zeveria. How are you feeling right now? I know how hard this can be my dear, but if you need anything my doors are always open to the members of my ajah. I once stood in exactly the spot you are now and so I know how mad you might be at me and at this ajah. I hope you will channel that anger into your battle weaves on the morrow. Do you have any questions for me?"

OOC: Sorry this took so long...

IC: Veria stood there and listened to what the sister..no Ajah Head had to say. She had many questions to ask her...but now may not be the time or place. Even though she was showing a calm and unruffled face..she was upset at this ceremony and what it stood for. Only her sweaty palms where evidence of her emotions. She decided to ask...

"Yes I do have one question...I have been told that if i apply myself I will be acknowledged as a full member of the ajah. My question is this..how long does that usually take?"

  • 2 weeks later...

Jaydena glanced at the girl and waited for her to speak, "Yes I do have one question...I have been told that if i apply myself I will be acknowledged as a full member of the ajah. My question is this..how long does that usually take?" Jade nodded, it was a good question and surprisingly one that wasn't asked that often. Usually they were so angry that they didn't even want to speak to her. The fact that she answered this showed that she was ready to begin this and wanted to truly become a Green Sister. She glanced around the room and then spoke, "Sister, the truth is that that's up to you. If you work hard and apply yourself it could happen quite fast. I have seen some women do it in two months time while others have taken six months or more. As I said, it's about how much you want it. If you want it as much as I think you do. You will practice your Battle Weaves, master them, learn from the Sisters in these Halls, and be prepared to do battle." Jaydena nodded at Zeveria and then continued, "Please know that my door is always open for you. Any time of the day or night I am here for all of my ajah members. You may not be full ranked yet but you are still a Green in my mind. I wish you good luck my dear, I will be watching you and being kept aware of your progress. Enjoy your battle weaves tomorrow. Good day Zeveria Sedai." She nodded one time, sent a small smile and a nod to Rasheta and then shut the door behind her. Looking around at her room, she walked over to her desk and began to write some letters...

IC: Rasheta waited till Zeveria and Jaydena had there talk. Jaydena spoke of the battle weaves and Rasheta almost groaned she remembered her training and it was not easy. She then realized she would be teaching them in the morning and she inwardly sighed, she had just gotten done teaching a silly novice about the One Power, and now she had to get up early in the morning again and teach someone else battle weaves. She didn't mind if it was for the Greens but she wished it could be taught at some time other then first thing in the morning. Rasheta had a hard time sleeping most nights and usually she wasn't in bed till the sun rose, tonight she would have to see the yellows about getting her a sleep aid so she could get to bed early. She realized that she had been to deep in thought as Zeveria was giving her a strange look. Rasheta shook herself and said in her coolest voice.

"You are free for the rest of the day, enjoy it while you can as at dawn tomorrow I will meet you at the Battle Weaves field. You can ask any Green if you don't know where it is." She tried to soften her voice a little and added

"If you need anything child we are all here to help you. I'm sure Jaydena spoke about seeking help from any sister or herself if you need to. Please do use it you will find training can be lonely." She nodded and turned away and pulled her shawl closer to herself, she really needed to find a yellow, before she left she added. "Enjoy your day.." She walked away and in the hopes of the girl passing the tests of the Ajah she said under her breath "sister."

OOC: Hey Neph when I'm done with this post I'll start your battle weaves class. It may go a bit slow as I'm doing mine at the same time so I'm using my class as kind of a template *laugh* Never fear though we'll get all done I swear....anyway sorry about the wait darlin.
