Ajah Heads and Egwene

Featured Replies

I'm on a reread, just starting CoT and noticed that in the prologue we get quite a list of Ajah heads in the Tower.  I was wondering if anyone looked in to see if Egwene spent anytime with them in KoD?

Yes, Sarancha Colvine (of the Grey) gives her a lesson, and becomes incredibly angry with her refusal to bend to the rules. Adelorna (of the Green) gives her a lecture during which she seems to be trying to break her, but gives up and suggests that Cadsuane would have found her a challenge. Ferane (of the White) beats her for being late after her encounter with Beonin.

Thats three of the seven--directly commented to be trying to break Egwene. This supports the idea that the Too Young Sitter conspiracy was instigated to allow the re-unification of the Tower under Elaida. This is not to say their efforts won't aid Egwene when she reunites the Tower--indeed in setting up the situation in which sitters can be dismissed with ease to allow the two halls to mesh they've aided Egwene--and no doubt their intentions were to allow the Blue Ajah back in despite Elaida's announcement, the Footdragging Five prove that--but their intention was originally to allow for Elaida to win.
