Now Mia, I let you be the spanker the last time I was out of town and look what happened: The boards went down. Now, I'm not saying it was your fault, but I am saying that we're blaming you.

Yes, I'm afraid Stick Mommy will return this weekend.

*pouts* but mommy.. please? I'll even accept the blame if you will only let me be the spanker again! I didn't even get to kick that many people.

A long time ago, when my baby sister was in kindergarten (she's sixteen now), her class assignment was to make a puppet of her favorite person. So, she created Stick Mommy, a puppet version of our mother.

Allison had sort of a rough transition into school. She's the youngest of four, and her oldest sibling was a sophmore in high school. Both her parents worked full time (and more, we barely saw my dad that year.) so quite a bit of the child care duties fell to me. Alli was the only kid in her class who never had her mom come to school functions during the day (because my mom was the only one who WORKED at a real job) so the teacher would arrange for the janitor to come and be her cheering section at plays and things like that.

I'm not quite sure how or why, but after awhile, me and my middle sister started claiming that the puppet was our REAL mommy. We'd set it in my mom's place at dinner, ask it for money, etc. It really bugged my mom and Dad thought it was hilarious.

I will occasionally drag Stick Mommy up from the bowels on my warped little brain when I'm going on LOA, because it amuses the rainbow out of me.

I love Stick Mommy. She's vair pretty. Especially when her eyes fall off. Or perhaps "pretty" isn't the right word. I'm leaning more towards "special" ;)

Well, I'm back and we didn't get blown away by a hurricane or eaten by an alligator. Though Esteban (who came with us, along with his wife) did nearly drown Saturday afternoon. We spent most of the evening in the emergency room over that one.

Oh he's fine. His pride is a little bruised. I'm bedating whether or not to tell him my baby sister swims out to that sand bar with no trouble all the time. But then my baby sister is bit more...boyant in the, ah, chestal region than he is.
