Surprises me that the Forsaken are so shocked about the Aes Sedai/Warder bond.  After all during their time there was the Fade/Trolloc bond.  Which seems to be similiar.  I have wondered how close those 2 bonds are.  Sure in their day Aes Sedai were respected so the thought of a Aes Sedai needing a protector would be strange.

 

After all if a Fade dies linked to trollocs all the trollocs die.  If an Aes Sedai dies then her wader usually loses wil lto live and goes off and dies.

 

We know the benefits the Aes Sedai gets from the bond and unlikley anyone has studied what benefit if any the Fade gets.  And beides controlling the Trollocs who knows if they get anything out of it either besides a painful death.

 

Did RJ ever speak of the Fade/Trolloc link?

Its just used to keep a large number of trollocs in line. Trollocs gain nothing, they are pawns to the DO.
