hi this is the first the first forum and the first post i have ever done. I chose this place because of my love of the WoT universe. I love it so much I named my first daughter after a character in WoT.

Everyone please welcome Aviendha Nemyah born on march 17,2008. ;D

Wow, congrats! Your daughter's about the age of my youngest (the one in my avatar, not the twins in the sig, obviously :D ) The whole fatherhood thing is pretty amazing, no?

Also, how in the hell did you get permission to use thst name? Beautiful as it is, I'm pretty sure my wife would divorce me before letting me name my kid after a WoT character. Did you give up 3 years of football sundays? Promise to weed the yard weekly?  Inquiring minds want to know

Welcome to DM!

No kids yet - but I am sure my girlfriend would strangle me if I suggested a WoT name! However, traditional family names will be coming first!

Have a good look around the site - I am sure you will find something! What sort of things tickle your tastebuds so we could point you in the right direction?

Congrats on the kid  ;D It is one of lifes most amazing joys isnt it, though I am too young to really even say that (Being 17) but I can still say congrats!

Though I am indeed wondering how you slipped a WoT name past your wife I am betting the answer is rather none dramatic (Gave a lung? Donated your life savings to charity? Sold a signed record of Abby Road?) it will none the less be interesting to hear.

Anyway, as the other two here have said, look around the forums, the Orgs are a good place to start (General duscusion tends to be overhwelming at first so dont start there unless you LOVE to talk). For the most part the Orgs are just theamed clubs were like minded people hang out and talk about their interests, like the Band of the Red Hand which does music (Yes, I just said that instead of Corki  :o) Or the Wolfkin who are the outdoors freash air and all that fun stuff, or the Illuminators who do art (Writeing/Computer Graphics/Cooking/Anoying everyone <---this is an art form all its own but one that they dont really do/ and other stuff I cannot remember) But, if you are into the Roleplaying (Dungions & Dragons) then I would recomend the Divisions towards the bottom of the forums.

Anyway, again welcome, congrats on your new kid, and have fun storming the Mount.

like the Band of the Red Hand which does music (Yes, I just said that instead of Corki  :o)

Are you suggesting I'm a record stuck on repeat??  :P

Translation: Yes, yes that is exactly what he is saying. :P

Also, congrats on the youngin, very pretty name you chose for her.

In response to everyone's question, no I didn't give up a lung, or 3 years of football sundays :o

I was just lucky enough to meet my wife who at the time was a moderate fan of WoT. One of the things we ended up discussing on our dates. I as an avid fan of WoT have read each book at least 4 times used WoT names for every login, game, etc. and so influenced her by my love of the books to read more and fall in love with the books as well. So it stands to reason that when we found out that we were expecting WoT names were not so taboo after all. Aviendha was chosen for its straight forward spelling as well as the character it conveys.
