360 is already cheaper than the wii, so I highly doubt its price will drop.

 

PS3 has some expensive hardware in it, that can't be scrapped, and while they maybe able to shave the price here and there, they can't go to far into the red now, specially not with the economy the way it is now. Their higher-ups will get pissed if it goes to far into the red.

But by taking as hit in the console sales figures, they'll be able to push a higher market percentage and recoup their losses in licensing and software and accessory sales.  The high price point of the PS3 is an even bigger hurdle with the economy being the way it is.

The 360 Arcade is also the only one that is cheaper, the other ones not so much, and those are what I suspect are being referred to by this.

Yes, though there is something about an arcade upgrade kit I've heard about with a 20gig drive, and 3 month live card for like 30$.

Here's to owning 'em both already : p
