The colour on Elidas hair?

Featured Replies

Hi there! This is a odd question i know :) but do anyone know the colour on Elidas hair? She have dark eyes, but i cant remember anything about her haircolour..but for some reason i have allways picture her as a blond woman. I have a weak memory of her hair colour was mentioned in NS or KoD but im not sure.

Do anyone know? If it is in the books, plz tell me where.

I swear she has brown hair. In the New Spring graphic novel she certainly does, but I'm not sure where it says that in the book.

A physical description can be found on this page::

Ye i know but it doesnt say anything about the haircolour

Physical Description

She is handsome rather than beautiful. She has a sternness far beyond Moiraine's. (TEotW,Ch40) She has dark eyes. (TDR,Ch17)

Usually it's specifically mentioned when a character is blonde, because so few people are outside of the Aiel.

Hey, maybe they color their hair? Perhaps there is some osrt of color stuff that turns their hair in another color, similar to the cosmetic that exists in our world.

The closest thing would be certain herbs; I am not sure if Elaida would know about them.

She certainly does not know about Illusion which would be the only other method.

is she bald?

The books would probably have told if she was since I take baldness to be a rare thing in Randland.

Why wouldn't she know about Illusion? Moiraine knew illusions, and so did the Salidar embassy to Rand.

Clarification: Illusion that is not "Mask of Mirrors"/"Mirror of Mists".

Moiraine knows just "Mask of Mirrors"/"Mirror of Mists" which does not change hair color.  The rebels knowledge of Illusion originated form Moghedien.  White Tower only discovered the "Mask of Mirrors"/"Mirror of Mists" part of Illusion.

You have a source for these different forms of Illusion? as far as I'm aware, Mirror of Mists, Illusion and Mask of Mirrors are all just different names for the same thing.

Ha! my son found a description in LoC Chapter 7 page 206 (in the paperback).

"An unyielding stern-faced woman, handsome rather than beautiful, and dark of hair and eye, Elaida wore a blood-red dress, with the striped stole of the Amyrlin Seat about her shoulders."
