Rasheta rose early after having a bad night, she had slept a little but not much. She braided her hair in her signature three black braids and then Leaving her quarters Rasheta headed toward the Green Ajah Practice field. She was on her way to teach a battle weaves class, this was the first time she had ever taught the class to anyone and while she knew she could do it she was a little worried about it. What if the new girl couldn't do everything and it was blamed on Rasheta. She shook herself however and walked down the back steps she made her way through the maze that led to the practice field for the greens, a large field enclosed on all sides with a 15 foot, 5 foot thick stone wall, she opened the gate and stepped into the area. Rasheta stood for a moment in the field and faced the tower for a moment. She didn't like mornings and yet she remembered her time fondly of the Novice and Accepted years. She shook herself after a moment and focused her attention back on what she was doing she jogged over to the shed area. With her key she opened the shed and took out the straw filled trolloc shaped dummies and began to set them out through the field.

Gazing around she suddenly saw the new recruit walking through the gate, she nodded at the young woman, and began to speak, "Today and in the days to follow you will be learning Air weaves, we will do each element for as long as needed and then you will ask for acceptance into our ajah again."

Giving the girl a cool look she said, "I suppose you are ready to start?" Seeing her nod she said, "Well then let's begin." Embracing the source she turned to the woman and said, "This weave is a fairly easy weave and could easily be done by most sisters in the tower, in this weave we use Spirit to strengthen it. The higher you are in Air the sharper the weave will be. Now watch closely the weave we are about to do is called the Air Razor. Very effective for slicing off Trolloc heads."

Pulling out a thread of air she quickly wove the thread together with weaves of spirit using far more air in the weave, she sharpened the weave until it reached razor sharpness and then gave it a push with Air and watched as it neatly sliced through the straw trollocs she had set up a few moments ago. Turning back to the girl she said, "Now think about how effective that would be against a fist of Trollocs and try to realize why we must temper you like a great sword." Nodding her head at Zeveria she said, "I will show you the weave one more time and then it will be your turn to practice them." This time when she wove the Air Razor she went at a slower pace so the new sister could see her exact thread placement. Sending the air razor off once more she stepped back and motioned for the other woman to begin...

Veria woke up early and bounded out of bed. Today was a exciting day! She was starting her training to be a full fledged green sister. She was scrubbing her teeth and paused....

She was doing this class with the same sister who showed her around yesterday. Oh Light!! This might not be as dandy as she thought it was going to be. That sister seemed...distant...and not like most Aes Sedai...Veria could tell there was something wrong with her. Spitting out the salty water as she rinsed her mouth she then washed her face and gave herself a quick wash.

As she dressed on her new green silk...she thought about Rasheta. She wondered what the issue could be. It baffled her as to what it could actually be...though she had a few guesses. Smoothing the narrow skirts over her hips and making sure they lay right Veria buckle a wide silver belt around her waist. She added her belt pouch and was ready.

Arriving at the Green Ajah's personal training yard she stepped in. Finding her "Mentor" there she walked over to her. They exchanged greetings and started the lesson. Veria listened and wathed the weaves carefully. It was not much different from making a knife with air.

Veria embraced Saidar and wove the pattern that Rasheta showed her. She guided the weave swiftly over to the dummy and deftly cut off the head. She allowed herself a slight smile and then tried again. She sent her weave to the same dummy and sliced it in half. She almost laughed az the headless torso fell over onto the ground. This was certainly a useful weave.

"Shall i practice more Aes Sedai?" She asked Rasheta.

"Shall i practice more Aes Sedai?"

Rasheta shook her head and answered "No Zeveria you have done well for now and we will continue."

She stepped forward and said, “Now we will be learning our second air weave of the day, the weave is called Air Club, the club is a fairly simple weave but yet again deadly to our enemies. Each sister weaves their club differently, some choose to make it wide and short, some long and thin. Whatever works best for you is what you should do.” Embracing the source she wove a strange shape of air and then looked at the trolloc target she did the weave once simply standing where she was and then walked forward and spoke back toward Zeveria, “The Air Club is a useful weapon in that it can be used to knock our opponent out if we have no need to kill them. It can however be used as a killing weapon if aimed correctly.” She reached the target and sent the club floating above her head at the Trolloc, she grinned as the Trollocs head crumbled into a heap. Turning back to the women in front of her she said, “This is a good weave if you need to face a single enemy and for whatever reason knock them out, maybe for questioning or to be sentenced. I want you to practice this weave until you have perfected it, when you are done we will break for lunch before moving on to the next weave in the series.”

Rasheta moved away from the young woman and sat down on a small bench that was used for watching over the pratice of the new recuits and watched as her newest "mentee" threw herself into the new weave. Rasheta remembered several years ago when she was doing the same thing. She remembered Jaydena's care in teaching her. She hoped that Zeveria was prepared for what she was getting herself into. Some of the Greens were scared of there first battle and some didn't make it through it. Rasheta had been frightened at first but over time had gotten used to battles. She had her own Warder early in her training and that made things easier, now however she was on her own. She sighed and went back to watching Zeveria praying the girl was prepared.

Veria listened  and watched carefully. This was something she was familiar with. Ever accepted swatted  a novice with a flow of air from time to time. This did not seem much different. Planting her feet she began to weave.

For the first few tries she did it the same at her teacher. Then she began to play with the shape. Making it thinner than thicker, longer and shorter. It was quite fun actually and she enjoyed the sight of a smashed dummy from one of her weaves. She had never seen a true battle...but she knew it was not going to be this clean. She had read accounts that made her shiver want to cry...but she could not afford tears or fear. She accepted that she would be fearful the first time she actually fought in a battle...but she prayed that she would be strong enough to over come that.

Felling satisfied that she knew the weave she turned to her mentor and asked...

“Have you seen many battles Aes Sedai?” A twinge of anger pricked her at the use of the honerific...SHE was Aes Sedai to curse it!

“Have you seen many battles Aes Sedai?”

It took Rasheta a  moment to understand that Veria was speaking to her. She wasn't used to the honorific added to her name by other Greens. She waved her hand in front of her. "Drop the honorific you are an Aes Sedai in the tower it would look odd for you to be calling me Aes Sedai in front of other sisters." She nodded to a blanket that had been set up for there use. "Come it is lunch time." She sat down and began to eat thinking over Veria's question.

"All Greens see battle of one kind of another, I have fought enough outside the tower. It is a never as exciting as the stories make it sound. To be Green however, you must expect it. We are the battle Ajah and we stand ready for the last Battle." She ate slowly and watched Veria eat and think over her words. She wondered if the girl was really ready. Most of the accepted who came to the Green Ajah were determined. Rasheta had been very much so, but some didn't have the look in there eyes needed to be Greens. Veria was definitely determined Rasheta could see that but was it enough? She stood when she was done eating and said

“Are you ready to do the final battle weave of the day?” Hearing Rasheta's answer she walked away from their lunch knowing that the tower servants would come and take care of things. She headed over to the practice yard and reaching the correct area she said,

“We will be learning something called a Air Shield, this is the first weave we have learned that is a protective weave and not a attack weave.” She embraced the source and wove the dome around herself, once the dome was tied off she said, “This is the Air Shield, I want you to attack it the best that you can. See how you can undo it. Not necessarily with Air, but with whatever you can throw at it. It will weaken eventually, but I am sure that you will see it is a very sturdy weave. With proper maintenance it can hold through many hours of battle.”Rasheta watched Veria didn't really hesitate more then a little, Rasheta smiled to herself. When she had done the weave there had been a little more hesitation. She had been taught by there Captain General after all. She watched as the weave began to crumble.

Holding her hand up to show Veria to hold off on the attack weaves, she dropped the weave for a moment and spoke, “Veria, did you notice how it is crumpling in on itself. This is because I’m not repairing the weave or maintaining it, because I tied it off, it is relying upon itself.” Seeing that the recruit understood she said, “Now I want you to make the weave and tie it off, I will begin to attack your weave. When it begins to fall apart I want you to weave it again but this time I want you to maintain and repair it as we practice. I would like you to see the difference it can make it the amount of time your weave will hold. To repair the weave you will need to feed strength into it whenever it begin to fall apart.” Nodding at her student she instructed her to start weaving the protective weave. She began to attack the weave and waited to see what would happen…

Ooc- Air Shield (Air 4, Skill 4). This one requires less skill than Air Razor, but greater strength with Air than both previous Air weaves we did. Remember to end this part as though you have spent all week practicing different Air Weaves, then the next week will start with the next element and last all week as well.

Veria's barely kept her mouth from working in irritation. Did the woman think her dim witted? Of course she was Aes Sedai...but as far as she understood it she was addressing a better and was due respect. She would keep all proprieties as she could. And the short and cold answer to her question...it was enough to make her huff...but she did not. This woman was going to try her patience in every way! Was she doing this on purpose or was it just her manner? Giving herself s mental shake Veria focused on what the other woman was saying and forgot about anger for the moment.

Rasheta explained a battle shield and how it worked and was formed. It looked very useful as it covered a person in every direction. Rasheta demonstrated the effectiveness by letting Veria attack the shield and see how well it held by being  tied off or maintained manually. Veria threw fire balls at the woman and made them as hot and strong as she could letting her frustration feed them. She thought about lightening...but decided that would be to much. They then switched places and Veria took up the shield and defended herself. She first tied it off and saw how it could break if not maintained. She smiled as best she could at her teacher and did as instructed. She held the shield manually and could see how making small adjustments it could kept strong. She could feel the attacks Rasheta threw at her shield and flinched at few times at fireballs coming straight at her. It was a very useful weave and she could see how it would used in a battle when swords and arrows where flying all around. When Rasheta dismissed her she left the training field and went to her rooms. It took her a little while to stop muttering but when she did she was determined not to let the woman get under her skin again. She was glad that this week of training was over maybe she would go and visit kopair and try to relax.

Earth 1

Rasheta got up early and dressed quickly and braided her hair. This morning she knew she was going to be teaching earth weaves, her personal favorite so she went and got one of the angreal to help the young woman along if she needed it. She went to the training feild and nodded to her mentee who was already there.

"Good morning Veria you are doing well. Let's get started on the days practice. Today we will being working on Earth weaves, for the next while we will be concentrating on these weaves, until you can do them in your sleep and feel the need to mutter about them behind my back, hating me for being such a taskmaster and making you do them. Some of these weaves may be hard for you to do if your not strong in earth, if you need an angreal please by all means ask, I have one on my person that I brought for you. It is not a weakness in soul to be weak in Earth, it's a man's element and it's not normal for a woman to be strong in it."

Walking farther into the field with Veria at her side she continued, “The weave we will be learning today is, Riven Earth the use of this weave is to rend the earth around or in front of an enemy, it can be used as a excellent distraction when you need to gain time to retreat.” Embracing the source she faced the open part of the field and wove a arrow shaped weave with a slight amount of spirit and reinforced with fire at the tip, without the fire it would have had disastrous effects on the ground it hit. Once the weave was formed she sent it off with a quick burst of air and watched as it hit the targeted ground and exploded the ground it hit. Turning back to the student she smiled and said, “Well your weave may not cause that kind of damage, as I was using the angreal but none the less it will do the job required of it.”

Stepping back from Veria she waited for her to begin practicing the weave, walking over to the wall with her long and graceful stride she squatted down and looked the girl over. She was doing well there was no doubt about that, however she had heard of more than one woman who acted confident through their battle weaves and then got themselves killed the first time they were on the field of battle. Sighing she stood up and headed over to the shed where she pulled out some more straw Trollocs. When she was finished she wove a air cushion and tied it off before sitting on it to observe her recruit doing her best to become one of the dedicated green sisters.
