“Castle,” starring Nathan Fillion, and “Better Off Ted,” from the creator of “Andy Richter Controls The Universe,” will be back on ABC next season, according to the Hollywood trade papers.

The network is also taking to series “V,” the Nazi-lizard extraterrestrial sci-fi drama remake starring Fillion’s “Firefly” co-stars Alan Tudyk and Morena Baccarin.

“Cougar Town,” the Courtney Cox MILF sitcom created by "South Park" vet and longtime Ain't It Cool News contributor Kevin Biegel, is now an ABC series, as are the murder mystery “Happy Town” and a not-yet-titled new legal series from “Kitchen Confidential” creator Dave Hemingson.

ABC reality series "True Beauty," which exposes the poor character of gorgeous contestants, has been renewed.

"The Forgotten," a Jerry Bruckheimer procedural about amateur detectives looking into the deaths of unidentified victims, has gone to series.

"Eastwick," based on the John Updike novels, is now an ABC series a well.

They all join the new sci-fi drama “Flash Forward,” returning sitcom “Scrubs” and new sitcom “Modern Family” on ABC’s 2009-2010 schedule, which will be announced at the network’s Tuesday upfront.

It looks like "Scrubs" may have more lives than "According To Jim" after all!

The busy James Hibberd over at the Hollywood Reporter relays that a ninth season of the medical sitcom has been ordered, with Zach Braff and Sarah Chalke coming back for six episodes. Co-stars Donald Faison, John C. McGinley and Neil Flynn have also closed deals to return (contingent, one assumes, on their pilots not being picked up in the coming week).

No word yet on how many episodes have been ordered, nor if the sitcom will morph into a studio-audience show (as rumored).

ABC announces its 2009-2010 plans Tuesday.

i'd be willing to give this a shot since tudyk is awesome but it honestly doesnt sound that appealing...

Vemy!?  I loved V from my childhood.  I was going to watch it before I even knew some of my favorite actors would be in it.  Yeah, plan to watch it.

V is an older show they are remaking?
