Just re-reading through tFoH and got to the end of the battle outside of Cairhien. After the Shaido have been defeated and Rand has been roaming around using the power until he collapses Asmodean shows up and just before Rand blacks out Asmo channels at Rand. What does he do? Is he actually trying to help Rand or do we not know what he does?

 

Also after that when Rand enters Cairhien and has the big procession theres a guy with them called Pevin, was that Sammael in disguise??

He probably tried putting some strength in Rand. It would have been strange if he attacked him with everyone there.

 

As for Pevin, no, he died and thus can't be Sammael, who dies one book later...

Yeah, I'm sure he refreshed him with the Power the best that he could. Asmodean was all about self-preservation, and in his situation at that time, that meant Rand-preservation. As he channels, Asmodean is described as looking concerned, and when Rand wakes up later, Asmodean comes closer to scolding him than he does at any other point in the tale. We cannot know for certain what he did, but it seems most likely that he aided Rand with whatever weave he used.

probaly the same thing rand did to bela.. asmo refreshed Rand cuz Rand was the only thing keeping Asmo breathing...the other forsaken thought he want over of his own free will, not that lanfear blocked him and made him pretty much helpless

 

Asmo didnt link though cuz men need a woman to link together

Healing might have been another possibility of what Asmodean did.

 

Pevin was Rand's banner-bearer until Battle of Caemlyn, I think the Shaido killed what part of his family that hadn't died in the Cairhienin Civil War and Rand's cause was all he had left to live for.

Asmodean says the next day:

 

I did what I could for you, of course--my life and fortune are tied to to yours--but my talents lie elsewhere than Healing, you understand.

Indeed, it was Healing.
