Why did streetview make such a comprehensive catalog of NZ backroads anyway? Just look at some of the crazy roads they went on:

 

Waiotehue Rd (points if you can pronounce it)

 

Gumfields Rd Pretty views of the Tasman Sea, if you're interested

 

Fern Flat Rd, which I'm sure has one car a year driving on it.

 

Sadly, they haven't been so comprehensive with the South Island or Australia. Australia does have some good roads though. I admit that I found this with the aid of google, but still.

 

 

Wow... they must really have a misconception of what direction some of those roads are going.

I played around with this.. checking out my family's streets.  My dad's has his dogs Buttercup and Pal in it.  And there is a car that looks like my sister's going down my street.

= Wa - i - o - te - hu - e (Wa-i is a dipthong, really)
