First off, did you like it? Was it better than the first?

I thought it was pretty good, but find I enjoyed the first one better. I thought they tried to put to much action in every scene.

Johnny Depp was good. The rest...Well, the storyline was not put together very well, and everytime I see this Bloom-thingy on the screen I crave to set him on fire.

The first movie was much better.

The first one was better because it was totally unexpected. (well, aside from Orlando Bloom, who is annoying and Maj and I agree on that point).

But the second was also amusing... I would watch it again. I mean, c'mon so long as there is a zombie-pirate-monkey there is no other movie that can really top it. Perhaps one with a ninja-zombie-pirate-monkey.

I thought he looked more like a zombie-pirate-squid.

Which reminds me, whatever happened to the famous squidcam?

Ooh, the husband and I enjoyed this movie. We celebrated by going home and watching the first one again, which we agreed was markedly better. But 2 is still a fun ride :D

I personally thought 2 was better just because I didn't like the whole cursed pirates part of the first one, which was just about the whole movie.

There was just a little to much effort for action (see the 10 min wheel scene) but overall I liked Dead Man's Chest better.

Refering to the quick ending, it was a very good set-up into the third movie that they filmed at the same time as the second one.

The main complaint that I have with 2 is that they basically rehashed all the same jokes. A couple of times, okay - it's just a nod to the first movie. But it was over and over again, and it wasn't nearly as fresh the second time as it was the first time.

Still, I found the movie entertaining, as I said above.

Got this for the wife for Chrimbo and so we just watched it for the first time. I really enjoyed it. It has been too long since I have seen the first one to have a solid opinion on which I thought was better. Perhaps if I watch them both at a later date...

So who stuck around for the post-credits sequence?

This almost goes into my disappointments of 2006. I mean it was no where near as good as movie as the first one. Why do we get so excited about sequels?

because we are optimists. optimism=foolishness.

Well, I enjoyed it if no one else did. Asked the wife which one she preferred, and she also preferred the first movie. Her entire reasoning for that was nothing more than Johnny Depp being in the first one more. Her lust for Johnny Depp in Captain Jack garb seems to be the prime motivation for her interest in the series...
