Eleanor Roosevelt published an account of her visit to England during the Blitz in WW2.  Her code name was "rover", since she was moving around in the country.  I have a signed first edition of the book.  It makes interesting reading.  Some minor members of royalty lost their lives and their home the day after hosting the first lady.  The book had lots of illustrations, though all are in black and white.
