battlestar galactica

I skipped it entirely and watched the new one, and I quite enjoyed the new one.

i seen the original first and was a fan than the new one and i loved it , imo i would say u don't have to watch the first one

Kind of depends on your taste in TV. I like my TV dark, gritty and tense, so I preferred the remake. A friend of mine is more into the 70's SF, so she preferred the original.

okay - should I start with season 1, or the miniseries that was released in 2003? And what is up with seasons like 3.5 and 4.5? Are those partial seasons? Blockbuster - why do you do this to me?

Miniseries first definitely.

3.5 and 4.5 are the second half of those seasons, they were released to DVD separately because there was a huge gap between seasons.

I've only seen the new ones but I LOVE them!

Yup. Miniseries comes first. The .5 seasons are cynical ways to cash in on the fanbase by splitting each season into two expensive DVDs. Season 3 runs to 20 episodes, Season 4 to 22 in total, so make sure you watch them all in order.

I saw the miniseries and the new series, as these operate on the same level, and on a different one than the 70's thing. But yeah, awesome stuff.

Definitely watch the miniseries first...

I never watched the 70ies one but I am a HUGE fan of the remake.

In other battlestar news, the Season 4 soundtrack has been released and is apparently highly awesome. I've yet to hear it myself, but I've been a huge fan of the soundtracks and Bear McCreary. Its a 2 disc set with the second disc being entirely from "Daybreak" the Series Finale.

We even get to hear Alessandro Juliani (Gaeta) singing ... <3

I've been waiting for this :D I own the rest and frequently listen to the soundtracks (especially the All along the watchtower song since I think that's the best version of the song EVER)...

:D
