I half watched this episode.  I was not impressed.

They need to be focusing on developing a great arc and capturing viewers, not doing episodic episodes.

Mmm. I think this probably would have made a better movie than tv show. The plot progression is too slow, and the subject matter too boring to sustain a weekly update.

I'm guessing it will probably be cancelled sooner rather than later. It's a pity too, the idea is amazing.

Fox scheduling chief Preston Beckman tells The Hollywood Reporter’s James Hibberd that all 13 second-season episodes of “Dollhouse” ordered will be aired despite the show’s far-from-spectacular ratings in the network’s Friday Death Slot:

"We're going to run all the episodes. We're not saying we're happy with those numbers, or accept them, but we don't have to overreact. During [November] sweeps we might have to jack up the numbers a little [with other programming], but we plan on completing the order for this show."

“Firefly,” a previous Joss Whedon series aired in Fox’s Friday Death Slot, was yanked early. The network never aired the spaceship series’ final three completed episodes.

“Dollhouse” ratings saw an 11% rise Friday, and new data released today indicates the series’ second-season premiere got a huge 50% DVR boost. Still, Fox Friday shows have notoriously short lifespans and a 14th second-season episode feels like a longshot.

Whedon offers confirmation of Fox's commitment in Hibberd’s story:

"We'll definitely have closure, but will leave some doors open," said Whedon, who's currently shooting the eighth episode. "When we got our first numbers, which were bad, the first thing [Fox president of entertainment] Kevin Reilly said was, 'You'll have all 13,' which was great. They're not going to pull the rug out from under us."

If only they had realised this in time for Firefly. Dollhouse is entertaining and all that, but Firefly deserved a reign of glory.

Firefly deserves a Rocky-esque statue

The bad news: Fox will pull “Dollhouse” from Fridays during November sweeps, sources tell Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello.

The better news: Ausiello's sources also say Fox will air two episodes of “Dollhouse” back-to-back on Friday nights in December.

I believe "Dollhouse" makes a much better lead-in for "Dollhouse" than "Brothers" or "'Til Death."

Fox execs have indicated they intend air all 13 season-two “Dollhouses” ordered despite its continued poor ratings in the network’s Friday Death Slot.

I asked Ausiello what might be airing on Fox Friday in November. He said he had no idea, but offered repeats of the doll-free “House” as a guess. “House” is Fox’s top-rated scripted show, so I’d judge that a good guess.

New “Dollhouse” installment 2.4 airs this Friday. The screener I just received indicates that 2.5 will air Friday, Oct. 30 -- but that episode may now be delayed to December since Oct. 30 is the first Friday of sweeps.

The recent episodes have both been dark but I liked them. I think hints of the overall arc were in the last episode so I'm looking forward to see where those lead.

Last Friday's episode was the best this season.  THIS is the show I want to watch... not Hand that Rocks the Cradle.

"Dollhouse" is closing its doors at Fox.

The network has canceled Joss Whedon's cult fave, which in May beat the odds with a second-season pickup despite low ratings.

The sci-fi series, which is filming episode 11, will finish its 13-episode order.

"Yes. Canceled. Sad but true," tweeted Maurissa Tancharoen, a writer on "Dollhouse" who is married to Whedon's brother Jed Whedon, also a writer on the show.

Beating the odds after a very slow start last spring, "Dollhouse" was renewed for a second season. But with a dismal performance this fall -- and despite getting a ratings bump from DVR viewing -- the show starring Eliza Dushku was benched for November sweeps after four episodes.

Fox plans to air all produced episodes of "Dollhouse," which will return with originals Dec. 4 as planned. Whedon is working on giving the series a proper ending with a big finale.

"I feel the show is getting better pretty much every week, and I think you'll agree in the coming months," Whedon wrote on Whedonesque.com. "I'm grateful that we got to put it on, and then come back and put it on again."

The cancellation of "Dollhouse" may spell good news for fans of Whedon's Web short "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog."

Whedon, who had been rumored to be working on a sequel to the Emmy-winning Internet project, said on Wednesday he is "off to pursue internet ventures/binge drinking" following the end of the Fox series.

"Dollhouse" stars Eliza Dushku as a DNA-altered woman who gets implanted false memories for various missions and tasks.

Fox already has picked up breakout freshman dramedy "Glee" for a full season, while sophomore drama "Lie to Me" is waiting for an episodic order after receiving an order for three additional scripts last month. Freshman comedy "Brothers" is also still awaiting its fate, but its chances don't look good.

Watched the Series Finale the other night *sniff sniff*

What a great show. Yet another piece of Whedon genius shot to hell. He needs to stay the hell away from Fox.

I didn't think it was as awesome... then again I missed the episode right before the finale somehow.  Funny how I have the DVR taping it and all.  I think Fox fooled me.
