I'll be watching, since Earl isn't on anymore and the Office isn't until later. :)

Good... I need someone to let me know if I should be checking it out or if this is too much like Twilight (the movie).

I'm fairly certain it will be absolutely nothing like Twilight.

It'll probably be another re-invention of Forever Knight, like that other one they had, moonlight?

Still doesn't look anything like Twilight to me. More like, Angel meets Dawson's Creek, with a dash of Interview with a Vampire.

I think it looks like Twilight to people because it is a young adult vampire love story... which was the first book.  I would get behind the Angel meets Dawson Creek if the characters are as well written as Angel. 

The only part that looks like its inspired by Forever Knight is the 'older' guy wanting to make the others life miserable... The whole theme of 'wanting' to be human again, and the 'maker' always trying to show the other vampires foolishness. But thats about it. Looks more emo twilight then angel imo. ;)

Really? Angel was emo-vampire-with-a-soul-always-brooding-and-trying-to-do-good. And their face went all weird. This vamp's face goes all creepy, and he's emo-vamp-always-brooding-and-trying-to-do-good.

I wouldn't say he was emo. he was more of a good vs evil character then an emotionally psychotic person who secretly wishes to die. :P

 

As corny as forever knight was, its the pre-cursor to almost all vampire shows on tv. ;)

Basically, its Forever Knight and Angel as the best vamp shows ever aired. (not counting movies)

I'll be watching, but with great reservations.  Looks Twilight-ish to me as well.  Even the kid they cast as the Vamp looks kind of like RPatz.  I loves me some vampires, but I dunno if I'm on board for a TV version of Twilight.  Or even a bubblegum version of Angel.  I want Good, Solid vamp writing again!  And yes, I'm still pissed about Moonlight!

That it got cancelled.  I LOVED that show!!!  It just needed some small writer tweaks for season 2 and it would have been perfect.

Have you ever watched Forever Knight? You might like it if you liked moonlight, only moonlight was a cheap copy of forever knight. ;)

I actually tried to watch Forever Knight and couldn't get through the first couple of episodes.  I did love Kindred, though which is another one I get Constant crap for liking.  Yes, it was horrid, but there was something in that horridness that made it kind of awesome.

The first few episodes are kinda tough to watch but it gets better. I swear!

K, I'll give it another chance Just for You, Sinister!  It's on Hulu, so I just threw seasons 1&2 in my queue.

This premieres tonight so I guess I will check it out.  I hear it is getting good reviews.

Even the “Twilight” fanatics will be leery of “The Vampire Diaries,” my pick for fall’s worst new series.

 

A drama about a high school girl who falls for a handsome 200-year-old bloodsucker, “The Vampire Diaries” is adapted by screenwriter Kevin Williamson (who earlier created The WB’s “Dawson’s Creek” and “Glory Days,” ABC’s “Wasteland,” and The CW’s “Hidden Palms”) from the 1991 young adult novels by L.J. Smith.

 

My suspicion is the CW execs know its snoozy, ridiculously predictable pilot is nigh unwatchable, just as they know their jobs may be forfeit if they don’t have a teen vampire series – any teen vampire series – on the air before “New Moon” hits cinemas.

 

A sample of the Williamson “wit” that litters the pilot: “I couldn’t stand another day of the ’90s,” one 200-year-old vampire tells another 200-year-old vampire. “That horrible grunge look did not suit you.”

 

A parting thought: The only vampire girl/human boy screen romance I can think of was in Kathryn Bigelow’s wonderful “Near Dark” (likely my favorite vampire movie ever), but even that may not count because I think the fellow was turned to vampire on the first date. You’d think just once someone might switch it up.

Oh, and the Vampire Diaries books were published quite a bit before the Twilight series. Suck on it. :P ;)

Some say Forever Knight is loosely based on Interview with a Vampire. ;) (You know, not legally based on, but inspired by)

Come on people... it's on the CW.  That means it sucks.
