About Your Nomination and Why You Are Nominating It: Delphi is the famous oracle site in mainland Greece. The ruins are fantastic, and can easily allow your imagination to work at how the site looked in all its grandeur. The best time to visit is early in the morning - try and make sure you are first in as it does get busy, especially at weekends. Plus when you visit, you can say that you have stood at the centre of the Earth -

About Your Nomination and Why You Are Nominating It - I dunno if this is historical, but it is one of my favorite places to go. It is close to home, and it is beautiful. The paths around the tower, mixed with the telescopes and historical information, are awesome. It really gives you a feel for the land.

About Your Nomination and Why You Are Nominating It: The house in which Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born. Salzburg is a beautiful city, and Mozart's a genius. Well, was at least. Good stuff. As a musician (on a board partially devoted to music), it seems apropos. Salzburg itself is awesome to visit, especially the Fortress and other places. Umm, and. . . yeah, Sound of Music was filmed there but, really. . . just eat some Mozart Chocolates and listen to the Classics. By which, of course, I mean most anything pre-1916. (/snob)
