Shame. The art of legspin bowling (basically, making the ball spin from right to left in simple turns) was dying out. Then came along the relatively unknown Shane Warne, who, with his first ball in the Ashes (the biggest competition in cricket, played between England and Australia), turned that on its head. He baffled batsmen for many years until his retirement, and the art of spin bowling took a massive leap forward, with several great spin bowlers in the game of cricket today.

Since he announced today that he is retiring from football, at the amazing age of 38, I just simply have to share some of Henrik Larssons finest.

 

 

He scored goals for Helsingborg and Feyenoord before moving to Celtic, but TV had not been invented when he started his career ;D
